PURE AK

Since the mid 1990’s “AK” strains have been increasingly popular. Our Pure AK is one of the strongest early finishing strains available anywhere. Pure AK produces hard buds with an exceptional penetrating aroma. Pure AK is an indica/sativa hybrid yet it retains most of its sativa qualities in its high. Pure AK finishes in as early as 48 days if conditions are perfect..
Extremely STRONG odour and smoke. An occasional leaf mutation can occur, but this is familiar with this strain.



You guys see that part about 48 Days? I'm thinking when I read that it was a typo or perfect conditions were a NASA type greenhouse BUT then I got some to test and well:

Now if I was just to see these I would say to myself not bad but it better be a fast 43 days that I have left lol and then we have what I guess are perfect growing conditions:

Pure AK is apparently a new name for an old (and unimpressive) strain. AK-48. I found AK-48 to be difficult to grow and by no means is a 48 day strain. IMHO

Heh, I remember that strain. Quick-flowering AK-based stuff was all the rage back on Overgrow.

I do recall a true 48 day flower cycle to be pretty tough to obtain, just because its AK-48 doesn't mean it will do that shit automatically. However, I do distinctly remember badasses like MasterKeif and BushyOlderGrower managing to pull it off quite reliably. Personally, I would rather some longer-flowering stuff that finishes nicer. AK will yield unbelievably, especially with the amount of time it uses to flower, but I was never a fan of the way it smoked. Too heavy and the high is sortof 'blah'. But, you know, to each his own.

I believe Mr. Wags is vouching for the excellence that is Bio Buckets: the closest thing to all-organic-hydro you can really get (at least until the OBBTs get perfected ) Bio Buckets will prolly always be more of a scientific and hydro-ey approach to organic gardening. You still check nutrient PPM and water acidity and have the ability to tune them, this is impossible with the OBBTs. With them you are stuck with whatever soil chemistry that the microbes decide to generate.

Grabbing myself a ringside seat for this one Mr. Wags! Lets see if you can top the epicness that was your now-stickied Bio Bucket thread! As spectacular as that was I think watching these short-flowering AK badasses explode into nuggage will be one hell of a show.

My first obbt grow is AK48 . It wasnt my first choice to grow in this method but they were available . I was fortunate to be given by a botonist these plants so know they are of good stock. I havent a camera but may try to borrrow one . I grew from clone and straight into obbts 12/12. today is day 47 of 12/12. hence my desire to ramble in mr waggs thread here. they are a impressive plant to grow and to watch . mine are single cola and look like just one big beautiful bud . The crystals are amazing with ak48s. absolutely like a mid winter spectacle of dripping ice crystals .both on the top sides and the under neath of leaves. along the edges of the leaves the crystals gather in large clusters . a beautiful plant to grow and watch nature in action. sorry that i dont have a camera to show off this work of art . I will post back in a few weeks after I dry and commence curing . Thanks mr waggs for posting this grow on ak48. growing ak48 organically and with proper flushing and curing i have heard its good . almost a sandlewood note to its hashy tone. This plant has been said to make great bubble hash due to the amount of crystals.
If it turns out to taste like dooggy pooos i will let you know.

Not familiar with biobuckets so I'm intrigued.

Well guys I understand where you are coming from but I myself cannot say until it's done but can only as always hope for the best.

Here we are a week later and spreading out like big girl's:
