Farmers Market
so, ive always wondered about the ins and outs of farmers markets, i mean the idea is so "quaint" local farmers coming together in a weekly bounty of beauty... okay let me stop
but if i say grew some produce at home and had a fair amount that i wanted to bring to market could i mr nibiru just go set up shop with my straw hat? or could i start a farmers market and rent stalls, i mean this topic just seems endless and very interesting to me, i have always enjoyed farmers markets and think theyre a cool social communal thing to do or even just experience, but it seems way more organized then that what would i have to do to permit a farmers market is it easy? in other countries i always seem to hear of market places where people come set up shop and sell theyre goods, it always sounds so amazing any feedback or knowledge would be welcomed peace |

Back in my hometown in suburban jersey, a farm down the road has a farm stand. I'm not sure what they have to do legally but it's just a barn they sell their produce out of. As long as you can meet or beat grocery store prices you will sell out time and time again.
fresh picked sweet corn @ 10cents an ear is fucking delicous. It costs like 4x that at the store |

hello. Farmers markets are great! You can find some great things there. We have two in our area and I'd like to sell veggies there next year. It costs $25 to become a vendor. Check your area to see if one exists...I'm sure there is one somewhere near you. We use to go to one that was filled with terrific prodcue, honey, cheese and crafts and live music. Great atmosphere. Good luck with your search.

the local ones around here set up all over town, theres ones every day of the week cept monday, early ones and afternoon ones.
usually they have a low fee. less than $50-100 plus sometimes a % of your sales. what I am curious about is can you have a medical marijuana collective that you operate at a farmers market?!?! it covers the business licensing aspect of the whole deal plus you pay taxes on the income, everyones happy? I just wonder if they'd allow it

huh? theres groups that organize ones in each local city.
you can search online and find some local ones, they will usually have a booth set up for registration or some info. grab a flyer and give em a call, you can rent part of the space they occupy and they basically provide the customer base as the local residents know that on wednesday at noon they can go to the sears parking lot and there will be a farmers market. |

You need a business license to run a market.
Also a good location. You usually need a vendors or local sales permit to be a seller in a booth/table. Check with your local city hall for sall the details. its good business. My buddy's brother-in-law runs one in LA and makes good $$ for not much work which makes it perfect for brothers-in-law.... |
