the dangers of cannabis...
Dangers of Cannabis
The DEA's Administrative Law Judge, Francis Young concluded: "In strict medical terms marijuana is far safer than many foods we commonly consume. For example, eating 10 raw potatoes can result in a toxic response. By comparison, it is physically impossible to eat enough marijuana to induce death. Marijuana in its natural form is one of the safest therapeutically active substances known to man. By any measure of rational analysis marijuana can be safely used within the supervised routine of medical care.: Source: US Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Agency, "In the Matter of Marijuana Rescheduling Petition," [Docket #86-22], (September 6, 1988), p. 57. any thoughts in this matter? |

It's probably why Frances Young is no longer DEA....
If that was said today under the Bush admin. I would fall over in my chair.

actually norml has and still is doing wounders in the legalization effort. just three days ago i got their update on this act in the works of going befor congress. "the industrial hemp farming act of 2005" or H.R. 3037 i alread threw somthing down about it but its basically To amend the Controlled Substances Act to exclude industrial hemp from the definition of marihuana, and for other purposes. Bill # H.R.3037 Original Sponsor: Ron Paul (R-TX 14th) Currently, the United States is the only developed nation that fails to cultivate industrial hemp as an economic crop, according to a 2005 Congressional Resource Service (CRS) report. Hemp is a distinct variety of the plant species cannabis sativa that contains only minute (less than 1%) amounts of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the primary psychoactive ingredient in marijuana. Farmers worldwide grow hemp commercially for fiber, seed, and oil for use in a variety of industrial and consumer products, including food. If passed, H.R. 3037 would allow states the legal authority to license and regulate hemp cultivation without conflicting with federal law. To date, several states have passed legislation authorizing the cultivation of industrial hemp for research and commercial purposes. However, farmers in these states can not legally grow hemp without federal permission to do so. House Bill 3037 would remove this federal hurdle by granting states "exclusive authority" to regulate the growing and processing of industrial hemp. in the next few years if passed we could see hemp oils, cloths, plastics. as well as a wide aray of consumer products that are most importantly fully renuable, and bio degradable. i am very exited. now if it could just get the backing and support it soo much desearves, our country just might find a way to save it self from the expected socal security crash thats pridicted in the next decade or two. LOL,
Who cares about industrial hemp, you see THAT as a win?Fields full of non thc iradiated mutant weed growing across america,Farmers will get fucked, period.I bet the price for hemp drops tremendously if this happens! In the beginning norml fought for LEGALIZATION,remember? Then they decided to jump on Nancy Reagans DECRIMINILIZATION bus, lol, what a joke. And you post a 17 year old statement that obviously did nothing in all that time, and say the fight still goes on. Since 1970 they have taken BILLIONS of dollars in donations for the fight, and where are we,30 yrs later?Fuckin worse than we were then,in my opinion,Industrial hemp will get us NO closer to lagalization,as a matter of FACT its a backstep just like medical marijuana,a lose lose scenario for all the US!my 2 pence
