GH Waterfarm Organic Hydro Question
I have a clone in a 16 oz cup of ffof, the clone is 2 weeks old and in another week or so will be ready for the PowerGrower(the hexagonal waterfarm). This may sound like a dumb question...It's late and I'm stoned, but would it shock my little clone? Heres a couple pics of my Organic soil plants- the little clones(28 of em) are from these plants.I'm really excited about going hydro organic, and really dont want to leave anything to chance.Thank you in advance.

I'm just not sure if I wanna risk my last blueberry clone going from a little cup o soil to hydroton in a drip/bubbler system

No you're not paranoid. Some plants make the transition, some don't. The mix of air/water roots in soil are often a bit different than what forms in a hydroponic system.

thanks man, I guess I'll wait for a Big Bang to root (they're in vermiculite/perlite-16 oz cups-watered with Botanicare cloning solution) I use RO water.I would hate to go through a big production with the powergrower(1 plant unit) and have my girl die or stunt on me-f-that.Thanks again

bf,
I did a couple runs of sog by bare-rooting soil plants. Most did very well, but some...they just never grew new roots and ended up stunted like you say. Didn't die, just didn't thrive. Coco works better for doing that, since they grow hydro-like water roots in coco if you water enough. Plus it washes off easier. Finally I just went with a system where I veg in hydro too so the plants never see any dirt. Good luck with your grow. ET |

Well, I couldnt leave it alone- Evil, you said that some of your gals made it? Well I'm playin the odds- I just dont want to go soil anymore-so I dissolved(gently) in a container of RT-RO water-the soil, easier than I thought-I mix in alot of perlite for young seedlings, and gently place the little root mass in a homemade net cup of hydroton. pics this evening, f-it, I've considered the pos of failure, I can live with it
