help doublediesel and smurfberry.
I have a question I hope someone can answer, can anyone tell me if the doublediesel and smurfberry are true autoflower's i.e flower under 24/0,or are they just light sensitve auto's.
from what I have been reading on the net, other growers are saying they are not true auto's, and they are having to switch to 12/12. I have just purchased a pack of each and would like to know what I'm up against. if anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated. |

Firstly, you really should have done your homework before you bought the seeds. But being a fellow stoner, I understand your impatience so you can be forgiven!
Secondly, as the fashion at the moment is to take strains from the Joint Doctor & LowLife Seeds, do seedruns and then re-sell the seeds as a new strain...I reckon you've simply bought a packet of standard Dieselryder and Auto Blueberry for an inflated price! 10 x Dieselryder Seeds from DrChronic - £40 5 x Double Diesel Seeds from Sagarmatha (which are probably just Dieselryder) - £44.99 Someone is laughing all the way to the bank! It's funny how as soon as I posted some pictures of LowLife's as yet unreleased "Auto Double Diesel" that seedbanks are suddenly selling it! But what's so "double" about Sagarmathas "Double Dieselryder"? They should be autoflowering because there's a 90% chance they're simply copies of the originals but the problem with doing that is they will not have the genetic diversity that the original breeders will have and as such, problems like non-autos and mutants can and will occur. I find such practices tasteless and pathetic but it's common in the seed-world. All I can do is advise customers to think before they buy and buy from reputable sources and from breeders with proven reputations. Lastly, autos are not really designed for indoor growing...I mean why would you? You may as well start standard seeds under 12/12 as you will get the same yield (maybe better) and will use almost half the amount of electricity! Autos are designed to be grown in containers, on patios, windowboxes, back yards etc during the growing season. They enable growers to have top quality cannabis in places where growing such strains has before been impossible. The only times that an auto should be grown indoors is when doing a seedrun or for filling up gaps in a growroom whilst normal strains are vegging/flowering. Ch@ppers |

Yep it seems I'm a sucker. here's the email I recieved.
Quote:there is a problem with the smurfberry batch. they are not auto flowering! i can exchange them for new seeds. the double diesel should be fine. the liniage is diesel x lowryder. personally i dont like the autoflowering types. never had liked things with ruderalis in them. however the market demands it. at the moment we do not create our autoflowering varieties and buy them from our supplier. needless to say I'm rather disappointed that saga doesn't breed there own auto's. I knew I was taking a risk when I bought them. but hey someone's gotta be the risk taker/sucker buying countfeit beans. from seeing my friends results with saga genetics I would have thought I was in for something special, but apparently not. I guess I'll chaulk it up as a learning experience. and run the smurfberry's with my 12/12 strains. And yes I bought them for both indoors and out for the same reasons you mention above. also I live in canada and the fast finish is a bonus in my neck of the woods. as for the researching, there wasn't alot I could find about them on the net,I should have e-mailed them before placing my order, but now I know better. hope this helps prevent someone from making the same mistake I made. thanks for the help. |
