i have been growing in dwc and ebb/flow for a while now and my next project is to do something different. originally i was going to play with aeroponics, but reading this forum got me thinking about verticle hydro or soil.

so to people who have done both, which yielded more and which was funner or more interesting to do?

Vertical aero on all counts.
Takes real attention to detail, but very rewarding in every sense.
