I wont go into many details, but i feel awkward about broaching the subject with my doctor and the surgeon im scheduled to see in a few days.

Ive filled out a surgery form of what medications im taking and exactly how much, its a pre-requisite before operations..but i couldnt bring myself to put down that i use THC on a daily basis in case of any eyebrows arching or police finding out etc as this is only a day admision to the hospital for minor surgery. Preferably id like NOT to tell them that im a marijuana user if i can help it.

What im curious about is, does daily usage of THC affect the risks of surgery or the Anaesthetic process?

Ive never had anything more than a few minor cuts or minor accidents so this will be a surgery first for me.. so im not sure if i should stop injesting THC before and after the event or just keep on as per usual? does it even matter?

Dont suppose anyone would know or have an idea?

HEY THERE Leeroy&Co , I've had a few surgeries and was also parinoid about exposeing myself as a pot user to a doctor. So I didn't and survived. They did test me for nicotine . I do have a friend with balls of steel , he told his doc that he smoked pot and they still only tested him for nicotine, before his many surgeries. Good luck.

U shud have no worries Leeroy, my girls had a few ops and the THC was flowing thru her blood she fired a spliff in her at any given moment...but to be safe just go without for as long as u can...also she did always say that she is a cannabis user and they have nearly always laughed and said how much...er wot quantity...er how do i measure that lol er ...how do u smoke it ..er ok how many cannabis ciggerettes do u smoke a day....lol it went something like that and the aneathatist just found it quite funny wen she tolds him..i think he was just a bit shocked...i think u will be cool mate..good luck

a guy around here got ratted out to the cops after disclosing his personal consumption...instead of the hospital, he ended up in court, then prison
you will not have any ill side effects from your MJ usage.

the worst is getting the anaesthesia out of your system...a nice fatty will help once you are home --that and the wicked sore throat from having that f*cking tube down your throat(if they are giving you general)...

The only concern you will need to worry about will be when you get home, roll and smoke that spiff. Make sure you don't cough your arse off and bust a stitch.HEHEHE

Is it a general anesthetic or local?
If it is just a local anesthetic, no worries at all, and if you have the choice get the local.
If you are getting a general anesthetic (knocking you out), then I would cut back on the THC...you don't want to add anything to complicate it...anesthesiologists have to get the doseage right or complications will arise and possibly death.

I don't want to freak you out, just trying to give you some info.

Depending on your procedure depends on how far your anesthesiologist takes you under.Your anesthesiologist should come visit you in the Pre-OP ward right before you go in to surgery. If not then ask for them to visit you before the procedure. Spend a few minutes with them and if you feel comfortable then tell them and them only. It is confidential doctor/patient information and your anesthesiologist would much rather know what he/she is really dealing with. It is simple respect for the one taking you under and you are putting your trust and life into their hands. I wish you the best and a very speedy recovery. Please keep us posted.
