28 plants and 1000w?
with a colosseum sort of set up. we have 7 vertical pipes that can house 4 plants each. its all connected in an octagon shape that is roughly 6feet tall. inside it is a single 1000watt bulb, and surrounding it is the 7 tall pipes totalling 28 plants. made of ABS plastic
given proper care, what sort of yield would YOU expect from something like that? it looks similar to that DIY pcv one I saw on this site |

for 4 rows youd be better off with two 600's stacked ontop of eachother but for your set up, flip before 8" otherwise it will be a freaking mess and youll hurt your overall yield by having a jungle, and you will have to aggressively prune like crazy and work alot more. try 3 rows first o, before i say that, got any pics or dimensions of diameter, length between rows etc..

probably 2#'s first run with a hearty strain/good yielder, i run a low yielding variety that gives me 3/4 a lb. on a flat.

the skeleton is 30 inches wide. has 7 stalks with 3 plants each
the next plant up the stalk is a full foot away there's about 10" between each stalk also, can I use 3 400s instead of 2 600s? the spacing will work better. one light per row... don't know how much more than 1200w I can get away with... |

is 1800watts overkill for 21plants? theres lots of breathing room between plants, but im considering using three 600's, as I can put one per row and I think it would be highly efficient. will I notice more gain using the 3 600s vs 3 400s?
one single 1000 is out of the question now |

I like the x3 600's, though the x2 1k's will also work well. The issue for me would be penetration from the light source. With the poles you will need to be a certain distance from the bulbs to accommodate them all. This should be the determining factor in your bulb choice.
For example, if you plan on having the poles 2' from the light source, the 1k's would be a better option. If you plan on running them 18" from the bulbs, then the 600's will work just fine. Either of these scenarios will bathe the plants in full lumens. Peace.

you ever consider a light mover? I don't think i've seen one used in a vert grow before...seems like it would be pretty ez to modify one and hang a light off it so that it would move up and down...
