According to this interesting Washington Post article, growing pot in Mendicino County now has less support among citizens due to the influx of newer growers from outside the region. They are accused of going beyond the usual limits, growing in town and bringing with them more ripoffs and violence in their wake.

thats what ive been hearing aswell...
(i read between the lines to come up with that deduction though.)

Yes, this story has been ongoing for awhile. It's good to see the Wash Post pick it up and run with it without being too critical of the marijuana scene itself.

That story about the shootout in Ukiah really brought the issue home for the locals.
