Nice man.. is it Edworts Apfelwine.?

Good to see you are brewing and into it man.. rock on.!!

M.Mrm i hear ya on that.. lol.. i just put it into my boil.. it seems to do well.. i store and ferment my beer at 68 degrees. that helps huge with proteins and solids falling to the bottom and over carbing..

The cooler you ferment at the better your beer clears .. then storing them at 68 helps beer attenuate in the bottle for a nice age and long term storage,

There's nothing more satisfying than drinking a beer that you brewed!
Well maybe smoking some bud that you grew! Home made or grown is awsome.

Man, i need to get started...

Love those belgian beers you speak of. And the pale ales. And the porters. And the... You get the point.

Gets quite expensive drinking good beer in my country. I will have to look into this.

Very interesting thread.

Have you tried Brother Thelonius and how do you like it? Would love to brew something similar to that.

no i have not tried it.. I've had tons of beers but never have i tried that.. what style of beer is it.?

I'm brewing up a 15gal batch of American Pale ale this weekend.. I'll snap some shots of the brew.. I have not done a pale ale in a few months.. still nursing on my Belgians and my brown ale. lol

Good to see more people finding this thread and into the hobby..

Brother Thelonius is one of my all time favourites. They call it a belgian style abbey ale.

All I have to say is try to get your hands on it

Looking forward to your pics. I have just started researching a bit about brewing. I'll post here when/if I get started.

Yeah, I could do all that but it's really hot here right now and all that requires more time and work. Just being outside standing over a 90 minute boil is unbearable right now. I just plan ahead and brew enough to get through the summer.

And, you know something else that dawned on me today.... I'm using the closet in the room I ferment and store all my wine and beer in as my grow area... It's going to be fairly handy to be able to say, " What? That smell?... oh, that's the beer, wine, etc fermenting... pretty funky smelling, eh!?"

I really do think it will reduce my odor control worries by 50% or more. We'll see.

I also have this noobish idea of putting a couple of Frankenstien like mini Apfelwein type fermenting concoctions in the cabinet as a provider of CO2 during peak budding.

Hey, it's something to do, right? lol

Hep.
New to the forum (and growing) but eager brewer and distiller. I brew what I feel like; hoppy pale ales (don't we all?), stouts, decocted alts, kölsch, belgian inspired ales etc. etc.
28 liters (7 gal.), all-grain, primarily bottled, occasionally kegged.
To get people started: https://howtobrew.com/intro.html

I use a simple reflux still with a 6 liter (1˝ gal.) boiler, normally distilling sugar washes. The pure alcohol I use for making bitters and absinthe (coloured green with sativa pot).

Dödsknark: There are a lot of swedes brewing good beer. So should you
