2nd time around! New themes!!

Okay okay we've all been asking for them.. for months..if not years!

When are we gonna get some new options for themes around here?!

vBulletin is not hard to mod for themes! we need to have a few options. The weed plant background and colors are cool, but after years of use...get boring...

cmon Skip! or whoever handles that...we need to get more themes! even the generic default vbulletin theme. i'll help if you need it! lol

This theme is completely customized. We cannot go back to the generic vb theme because things won't work and what does won't look right.

The point is not to focus on the "theme" but the content itself. All themes get old, but the content is fresh. Focus on what you're here for, not how it all looks together. The theme should be in the background (subconscious), the foreground (content) is what counts, and what we want you to pay attention to. So if the background & theme are boring, that's fine, imo.

At some point I may create a new theme, but it's a LOT of work and really doesn't add one percent of functionality or content to this site. Few of the great, successful sites need to provide extra "themes" to keep their visitors happy and coming back.

I'm usually aghast at what most ppl choose to display on their myspace pages when they are given the chance to choose their backgrounds & themes. Half the time it renders the page illegible or just makes you want to flee.

It takes a lot of time to coordinate the graphics, the colors (which must render all text legibly), the font sizes, colors and faces must work right on every page.

I don't want to discourage you, but...If anyone has the time and experience to redo the styles, go ahead and try. Look at the css on this page itself. And that is only ONE PAGE out of many dozens that must look right on this site. You can save this page, modify the css and then see how it looks. Go play with it for a few hours and see how far you got. And you could go spend days doing it and if not acceptable to us, you've wasted your time...

AFAIK, there are downloadable themes.

When i managed the company's forum i used to work for, it had an option where you could upload templates/code and make the themes interchangable - IE., ICMAG stays the way it is but under User CP you are able to choose other available themes.

No way would i expect you guys to build from scratch..

Is there any way you could leave the theme the same but change a couple color options to make a dark theme? All this white strains my eyes

It shouldn't unless you're new to the internet (takes some getting used to), or your monitor isn't great or the settings on it need changing.

Try lowering the brightness and contrast. That usually fixes that problem.

Good luck!

Skip, we all know ICMAG has a fully customized theme already...

But why can't you leave that...and add pre-built themes? vBulletin has options like that...this green theme is played out as it's been this way for years...i'm SURE members would at least like an OPTION to change it, such as 90% of the forums have themes available..

I would just like the ability to have lighter color schemes so I dont have to adjust my monitor contrast/brightness everytime I want to visit the site.
