Bog,
When you go into your 48 hour dark period prior to harvest do you continue flushing/watering your plants? When and where do you like to top your plants? What node? what stage of veg do you top? how long do you veg after topping? Thanks in advance, Tex Kid |

Tex, I generally top my plants once about 3-4 weeks into veg and then veg another couple weeks.
When you feel the plant is done water it for a last time and place it in darkness or shade. Either is fine. Sometimes 72 hours is even better than 48 before you chop and hang. The results sometimes is startling... BOG

another question, bog - I have bogbubble almost done (mostly brown hairs, some white) - lots of resin stalks but not really beading up yet - what do you look for to determine when it is done?

You didn't take it too long did you? Sometimes they finish almost too fast and usually I take them on the early side but getting a plant to finish properly can vary with different individuals. Timing seems to be important and nutrition. I like Earth Juice for the latter half of flowering as it resins very well and leaves a good taste with minimal flushing at the end. 1 week.
Timing means looking at the maturation of the buds compared to the relative resination. If not up to hopes perhaps a better mom should be chosen and used but some things can be done to help resining. Short periods of dryness before watering, shorter days a while before finish can help too. You attitude and expectations even plays a roll but the genetic make up is paramount and not every Bogbubble grown from seed will be the greatest. I do feel that even a mediocre one will make most people quite happy. When done do place it in the dark watered for the last time for a final 48 hrs before cutting and hanging. Removing all the leaves a week before the plant is done also makes it resin a bit more as do dry humidity conditions and heat. BOG ![]() Bogbubble...

they are at day 39 of flowering, so I don't think they are too late - one day later, and things are starting to happen - beads are starting to form on the stalks now - this pheno showed preflowers 3 days into flowering, and started showing resin stalks at 14 days

She needs about another 10 days and 2 in the dark. Possibly as little as 45 days or up to 55. BOG

You should also remember that a color change precedes the withering of the pubic hair usually and the color change is not the criteria for taking a plant. When you know a particular strain well enough to recongize the different types it is useless. But, when you see that the top cola appears frosty from 5-6 ft away it is getting there. Bog bubble resins early and heavy so don't be fooled by color of hairs. Watch for the resins to form pools in places. BOG

more progress on day 43 - one pheno (2 plants) is big, very sweet and bubblegum, and seems like it needs several more days - the other pheno(2 plants) is another matter - these plants were cloned late, and never had a chance to catch up - but they have a very distinctly different smell - hardly any sweetness, but rather sort of sour skunky perfumy smell, and they are really resining up - could this be a sour bogbubble?
I have two clones of each, but can't tell them apart in veg (they got mixed up during cloning)
