Well then after last times minimal efforts im back for the 2nd run.

Exactly the same setup as before including 6 x 18w cheap bulbs, no fan or ventilation other than opening cupboard door, same size pots, same batch of seed.

Improvements:

Better light from the word grow!
Better compost with added perlite from the start.
NO topping this time, slowed everything down last time. Instead, nipping and training.
My brains got more info and experience


So, the plan. I put 2 seeds into water/tissue on the 1st July. Both in different comps, one was the old one i used last grow, which was shite so i transplanted into upgraded mix yesterday.

I will be switching to 12/12 soon, probably tomorrow. That means they have been alive for 3 weeks, the first 5 days it was just in the process of cracking, growing its root and opening its starter leaves.

Iv got 2 plants but intend taking cuttings off the biggest for transplanting outdoors, but late but better late than never! So il have one left for my indoor grow like last time.

Apart from, my goals. Last time i got just over an ounce of dry bud. This time with a better start, better compost and a bit of experience im looking for 1.5-2 - optimistic lol!

Here are the plants. The smaller one was in a different comp without perlite and has had a big effect on growth.

Im pretty sure il be taking the big one outdoors to finish after taking cuttings, makes more sense to me coz theres not much warm weather left in UK so i wana give the bigger one the chance to get more bud.

So i dont think il be flowering the smaller one tomorrow, maybe in a few days. see how the growth comes along after being repotted (some roots got snapped in process)

Thanks mate same to you and all the best. They shooting up like sky scrapers, especially the bigger one.

Heres the update. I gave them 36 hours of dark starting on the night of the last update and then back on at 12/12. So have been on 12/12 for roughly a week today. No pistils showing yet but the plants are getting ready for the flowers

Also took 2 cuttings 10 mins ago to see how they do, never had a successful cutting root so expecting the same this time, although this time iv chose i new teqnique which is just putting the cutting in water, nothing else fancy. Will likely die but ya never know and its just another method to add to the 'failure' list that wont be tried again!

That's wicked My only question is - where's the lights? Looks like you only got 2 bulbs in there.

Good luck with the cuttings. I would give you my tips but what works for one person often fails for someone else. I've heard the water trick works fairly well though.

Scrubninja - i had 2 lights on for the first 2 weeks or so, one over each plant. Then 2 over each plant now today iv fired up all 6. Expecting the cuttings to not root so not bothered either way, their in the same room as the plants so their on a 12/12 light setup not the standard 18 or 24 hour light. Just an experiment see what happens!

Tripsick - enjoy the show. Should start getting interesting from today, the big plant has just started to show tiny white hairs after about a week of changed light cycle.

Im having thoughts about keeping BOTH plants inside under the 6 lights. Would be cramped but surely looking at more bud. But then again i wont get a decent test coz last time the plant basked directly under all 6 lights. hmm il have to make my mind up. Would be nice if the clones took, then id keep them in the corner and have one big plant directly under them

Small update. Like i said above, we now have tiny pre-flowers very happy.

Their too small to take a pic of so no close up for another week or so. Although today i took some new pics as im very happy with the growth. its fantastic!

Il not bother topping again i dont think. This morning i woke to find the top of the big plant touching the lights, so it was bent over a little bit. Come back home at lunch to tighten the string to pull it down a bit more. Im wanting the undergrowth to shoot up so it will fill out a bit more before properly flowering. SO took some pics:

Well time for an update.

Good news and bad news.

The big healthy plant has been getting worse over the last few days. I overfed it and it was sat in this strong nute solution without me realising for 36 hours which had a severe effect on the roots and leaves. I took a pic the day after and of it today. It was doing really well and the flower production was cracking on lovely. i got excited and near enough killed it through givin too much love

Good news is the smaller one that was behind in growth is doing well and even though it started flowering a week later than the big un, is developing bigger flowers.

AND the 2 clones in just plain water under the same lights with the same 12/12 setup both rooted on day 9. I eagerly potted them up (too early i think) and they are doing ok, not sure whats going to happen as iv never seen or heard anyone cloning and growing under 12/12 from the start so wel see what happens just another experiment. Hope it works. Heres the pics.
This was the same day i overfed or the day after cant remember.



This is 10 mins ago, its getting worse by each passing day. I give it a good flush this morning. The plant isnt soaking up the water at all i think the roots are all fucked so this one will likely die which is a fuckin shame. stupid mistake but iv learned the hard way as usual lol
