Its been cold up here in the great whit north this summer, and me plants are growing very slowly.

here's what i've done:
transplanted 3 of the plants into my garden outside.
And off craigslist got a light system to grow indoors, 400 W.
Basement is unfinished, nice place to have a little indoor grow going on.
4 plants in the basement.
Stopped by a place on Yongesterdam here in Toronto the other day, and got some good insight from their grow department.

I'll see how the indoors go, compared to the outdoors. Gonna go 24/0 downstairs.

your lucky you have that choice, i have a b.s. thats stunty too because of the weather of the upper east coast. a little gray and some chilly nights can really throw everything off. i blame the cold for my 4 b.s males too...

yike, 4 males...
I hope i dont get that many. I'll keep you posted on the outdoor BS progress. Two of the three outside seem very happy and are looking vibrant, one is being eaten by something.

I grew a few outdoor masterlows earlier this year and they took about 2-3 weeks longer than their indoor counterparts. That was with full sun at 34deg N lat. I think the advertised finishing times of autoflowers are only true if you provide the best possible conditions (24/7 hid lighting). I know I've slowed the process down on a few different occasions.

finding the same thing with auto ak's totally slow as hell to start, once they take off they get faster, but its not gonna be an early harvest not worth my time, could grow regular and get way way bigger plants.

at least from my experience with original LR.....

LR seems to slow right down and even halt growth (but still survive) in colder temps (40* nights). They really grow best if the temperature is always above 60*F IME and really prefer something right between 70 and 80*F for optimal growth.

Have a buddy growing out some of my Mossy's JEM at the moment outdoors and is doing quite well by the looks of it. however, I have a photosensitive, non-AF cut, so its almost a whole different ballgame. Still a bit of LR genetics in there, but Mossy fine tuned her to say the least.

With AF's outdoors, I budget about 1/4 vthe yield out as compared to indoors with the same genetics and good growing conditions.

Full sun, nice soil, and good watering can do wonders, but still, its tough to expect an AF to yield its best outdoors.

Good thing is, with AFs, you can just make up for the size with numbers. I recommend anyone who buys AFs to do a seed run first and then find good plants out of that second generation to do anotehr run with/ figure out what works best in your area and pollinate those plants with males that do well.

I got a little better than a 1/4 of the yield of the indoor plants...but only a little better. The outdoor af's averaged about 7-8 grams while the indoor plants averaged about 15-20 grams per plant. I predug the holes, started the seeds indoors for 2 weeks, and checked on them every day.

Our neighbor grew some masterlow in pots outdoors and they looked more like the indoor plants. If I ever grow the autos outdoors again I will use pots as well.

You can still grow them big with good soil and lots of sun but there very slow to start id expect an extra month for the midgets.
