Tell me, what's your favourite cultural dish?
What is your favourite dish from your cultural heritage? I don't know how much ethnic variety is in the site, so you can talk about dishes not from your own culture too.
I'll go first: I love anything and everything plantain. My favourite is ripe black plantains, cut on the bias and pan or deep fried until golden brown and falling apart with black caramelized and crispy edges, then liberally sprinkled with coarse sea salt. It's like eating maple syrup and bacon, a sweet and salty explosion. here's a link to a picture of how i like em: https://farm4.static.flickr.com/3045/...6be1d04b_b.jpg |

This is sad ... I need to Google info about what Finnish people eat ... maybe I have a favorite ??? Maybe not ... I honestly don't know if I have eaten authentic Finn or LapLander cuisine ... I'm sure fish is in there ... and maybe reindeer ... I hear Rudolph made a Spicy Chili but I have yet to partake in reindeer venison.
So yeah ... Reindeer is on the menu ... I haven't had a lot of the Different things from my Main Point of Origin but I'm down with Smoked Fish, Peasoup, and Mashed Potatoes ... it appears I need to sample more of Finn cuisine ... and I think I could Rock some curly toed shoes ... yeah I said Curly Toed Shoes. |

Some of favorite dishes to this day are: blue crab soup, spicy bolied shrimp remoulade, crab cakes with smoked tomato mayonnaise, braised duck with oyster dressing, quail stuffed with blue crab, smoked quail stuffed with roasted garlic & peppers, blue cheese crusted filet mignon, parmesan crusted bacon wraped oysters, baked-grilled-broiled swordfish, mahi mahi, yellowfin tuna, fried red snapper, mangrove snapper, or grouper. These food threads always make me hungry. ..... |
