I collected 5 Monarch Butterfly Caterpillars from the wild today, and I am gonna raise in a Mason Jar with holes in the lid.

The little devils eat a lot and then they spin a beautiful green jade and gold chrysalis. After they hatch, I let em pump up their wings and fly off to Mexico for the winter.

Here's the fattest, biggest one.

I don't think they liked the flash photography inside a Mason jar! The flash was pretty bright, so after I took the pic they looked stunned and didn't eat for 3 or 4 seconds... LOL They are gonna just eat all day and nite too. Eatin Machines!

I hope I can keep up with their demand for Milkweed Plant!

I love mocharchs...I haven't seen a lot this year. There's a beautiful botanical garden around here that does a buttlerfly release every year...I should make it a point to go next time
