DoobieDuck's Home Veggi Garden 09

Friends I have started an album in which I'll be posting my home veggi garden pix as well as here. I have here a giant row of purple and a regular variety of string beans..3 foot across by about 30 feet long, next to it on the left are several varieties of squash, next row to the left is guords and pumpkins some cool ones. The giant pumpkins are in the back. The flower patch is Gloriosa Daisies blooming now with many others to follow, and this is where a few marijuana plants are enjoying the hot July sun, Those can be seen in my Trainwreck thread.. My grapes at the end of the flowers with a Purple Smoke tree on thier left. I'll get a shot of my tomatoes soon..the lighting wasn't quite right today...thanks for your views and posts...DD

Very nice!

Have you considered adding some sort of mulch to the bare soil?

Wait what thank you for looking in. I have lived here for 12 years now and this sandy soil is added to every year. There is also Growmulch brand mulch around the bases of many of these plants as well as the straw covering the pumpkins..it just looks like it is untreated friend. Really they are doing fine and will produce more han my neighbors and my wifey and I can consume...specially those squash! DD

nice pics, looking great on the garden.

we heard the if you got some maple trees, collect the leaves in the fall and use them as a mulch/weed barrier in spring, till em under again in the fall and makes great soil, dnt knw why maples, though....old farmer told us.

looks great, I do about 4 acres , 2oo+ tomatoes 3000 corn seeds, all the standard stuff, run a small farm stand to sell to the neighbors ( helps to offset the cost of the SEEDS )

Trinity..yes..we have apples, peaches, Asian pear, cherries, plums..but sadly I am loosing a couple trees a year now..woodpeckers are killing them.
These images from last evening. Fried squash...dip in egg batter, rolled in corn meal, and....yum! I knew the girls would want to see the entire stove my wifey and I have so an image is included. Couple shots of the produce on the vine.
Thanks for your views and posts...DD
