Ok, let's try this again! Ganesh, 8MH x Ganesh, and a few safari beans
Ok, let's see if I can do this right this time around. Had some stuff come up that I had to tear down for.
Got the room setup again but changed the lighting. I had two reflectors and bolted them together to form one long reflector. Kinda a pain in the ass - couldn't move them independently. They're now separated. The temps run a couple degrees higher (it's hitting 90 in here right now) so I'm going to shorten the ducting and get the exhaust running as efficiently as possible. It's got a longer run now around a couple corners. Also going to add an active intake. It stays in the mid 60's in the basement - just gotta get more of that flowing in. The passive intake just isn't working for the summer months. So here's the plan. I'm all about getting it done as efficiently and quickly as possible and keeping up a nice steady supply. I don't have the cash to setup another space right now so I needed to get a little creative. I tried running the ganesh from my last run 12/12 from the get-go. Made some pretty nice plants without too much branching. Would have formed a nice long cola with some chunkiness below had they been allowed to finish. I plant to do the same thing this time. Since I can't run two spaces right now I'm going to get a semi-perpetual grow going on. Currently I've got 17 pots, 12 of which have two beans in each one. I did this so that I have a better chance of getting 100% of those pots at least germed. The first one to pop through will be the keeper of the two, should two come up. The 2nd will be culled. The other 5 pots have only one bean each as they are from a safari mix bonus pack of 5 beans that I started in paper towel (sorry Mike, I know you HATE that) and all had tails when they went in the dirt, so I'm pretty confident all will come through. Since running a 12/12 schedule, it will get the plants showing sex around 4-5 nodes. Figuring on 50/50 seemed like a safe bet. That should hopefully leave me with 7 or 8 females. These will all go to the back of the space and I'll start another 10-15 beans, depending on how much space I've got left. Run those the same way and so on... Wish me luck. he he he... I had a ganesh the last time around that had an almost berry type aroma mixed with skunk overtones, pretty interested in fruity stuff, so I'm using 12 of these beans. The other 12 are 8MH f x Ganesh m. As for the safari mix, Mandala's website said this batch should be related to the white satin and kalichakra strains. Should be a nice surprise - I even had one through the soil already tonight. They're in smaller pots (1.5gal), but we'll see how it goes. Hope to keep up the grow log better this time. Last time around I was slacking, but I've been pretty good about it in the past. Here's the kids, in all their pop bottle covered glory. Make great little germ-houses. Enjoy! |

As of this morning I've got two above ground, 2 more breaking through. All the safaris... Can't wait to get past this part - makes me nervous...
The others were planted directly as directed but are of my own creation - probably take another couple days before I see any action there. |

Got 15 total sprouts now. Won't bother ya'll with pics of sprouts in the dirt. All but 1 of the 8mh/ganesh beans I made have come up, only two of the ganesh beans I made are up but I started more in paper towel this time to fill those in, and 4 safaris. The 5th safari got a little warm I think in it's dome and died.
Going well! Once I've got at least one plant in each pot I'll get some pics up. Only running one light right now. I need to move a couple seedlings around a couple times a day to keep them from reaching too far, but they're doing good with it. I'll get the active intake hooked up this week and I'm also going to be moving the ballasts outside of the space. Gotta get both of these running. I've also decided to let these go a couple weeks or so in veg, not too long, just enough to get everyone above ground and established. More to come... |

Ok, ok, I'll bore ya'll with a few pics.
5 pots still empty today, hope these beans in the paper towel crack. Put 16 in, hoping to add 3 per pot. Gotta try to get mostly girls, of course. Just spent three months making beans and only ended up with enough pot for a few weeks. Errr.. I'm sober as fuck and I hate it. Anyhoo... I really miss how the old pics worked. |

Looking good Spaced... i'll be around watching this! I was reading on some other forum about that Safari Mix beans and some guy was claiming that he has found his Holy Grail in it, there's certainly a great potential in the Mandala genetics, hopefully you'll find some keepers in there... Here's my 8MH 2 outdoor, three weeks since transplanted in full soil:
