My first grow - SeedBoo Bluestreak
Hi all,
Im trying my first grow. I bought some BS from seed boutique as it's only about 5 minutes from my front door. I bought 2 packs (24 seeds) - as I knew I'd fuck it up somehow. So, I germ some about 10 days ago, and very small amount of cracking occurred. I did germ on paper towel without precracking. The second batch, I did precrack, put on paper for 48 hours. Some did have a bit of a root, some had cracked open a bit, and some seemed still closed. I transferred all of them to jiffy pots with some potting soil, and today my first plant broke through. The first batch I had in those jiffy pucks, but they didn't do shit, so I did transfer the ones I could to the jiffy pots with the potting soil. I'll keep you appraised of how it goes. I would think that another one or two will break surface by tomorrow morning... |

I'll send some good Blue Streak karma off your way. If that works here is what you can expect to see after 17 days.
In the dual picture the one on the left is unsexed and the one on the right is a female and transplanted a bigger pot and into coco today. I was going to make some Blue Streak seed but have decided to go for some smoke on these two. So far these two Auto's are on the same feeding regime as my full size vegging plants and loving it. Good luck on your first grow! Are you going to make any seeds?

hi
okay, it's now 11:30ish here in Toronto. I now have 6 of 16 starting to sprout through the dirt. I just don't know if these are from the initial seeds I started 10 days ago, or the ones I started on Friday. SaH, that's a crazy 17 days. Right now I'm in inch jiffy pots with top soil. So my questions are: 1. Given I want to move these things outside what soil (commercially available in Toronto) would be best to transplant these little guys into. 2. SaH, I see you're still in the red plastic cups, when will you transfer them to bigger containers, and what size containers will you use? If I get 16 of 16 sprouting, depending on the sexes of the plants, i may go for some seeds. But right now, i've got 6 that are sprouting, and I'd be happy with 2 of them being girls. This is just a fun project to do. Thanks for all the insight now and in the future. Thanks again! XYY |

one more thing.
i must have been pretty tired, but it looks like i planted two, yes two, seeds right next to each other, and they are coming up side by side. How and when should I separate them? |

I think some of the outstanding growth is due to the use of coco it just kicks ass over soil and I am finally glad I made the jump.
Before I made the jump to coco I loved Fox Farm Frog soil for starts and Fox Farm Ocean soil after the first transplant. Other then that I have no idea what is available there. Just find a local hydroponics store go in and talk the person working and listen to what they have to say on the different products they carry and come back to the forum and do a search to see if you can find info good or bad in that product. As soon as they show sex I transplant into the final pots. Now some people say to put them right into the final pot right off and not to transplant and i have done both. There is a small advantage to doing that but I don't think it is worth the cost and space overall. S_a_H

i'll post some pics soon. But it looks like i'm what 14 days into the seedlings, and I've got the three leaves part.
The plants are outside in 2 gallon containers, still pretty small. How fast will these guys grow, and what nutrients/fertilizer, if any should I be putting in the waterings, and how often.. I've done a lot of research on line, but there doesn't seem to be anything specific. I put some basic 32:16:24 basic stuff in, at 25% dilution (one-quarter strength). And what would be a good fertilizer at this point that I can get here in Toronto, if there's any canuckers watching this thread. Last edited by geneticistx; 07-15-2009 at 10:47 PM..
