I'm aware that particular outdoor growers do these "outdoor SOGs" where they plant a bunch of autoflowers in those rubbermaid totes and they all share the soil. Hell, Greens even does it with early non-AF strains and gets good results...

im doing a substantial run of NON-femmed autoflowers in an indoor location, and i was thinking, following the same style as those that plant multiple plants outdoors in rubbermaid totes, that i could do the same thing indoors. the reason i want to do this is that im using regular seeds and since ill be pulling males, it makes it alot easier to use the space more wisely than using single pots (ie. instead of removing half the males and leaving the room's floor space half empty, i just cut the males at the base of the stem).

why not just start small and pot up you ask? well , its a big grow... it would be hours and hours of backbreaking labor to pot up a lot of plants.

any idea if ill have problems with the dead males roots being left in the container, alongside the healthy and growing female roots?

well there will be +/- to that plus less work. - dead roots from the males in the soil witch will die and rot after said males being cut. id go with individual pots and just start them in the biggest pots u can as thats what iv been told and have been proven to myself as a good idea. some autos can be sensitive to being repoted alot. thats just my thought on things.

hmm.. i see your point.. wonder if it'd be possible for me to pull the males, roots and all, without hurting the females. i would definately just use single pots / bags for each plant but the thing is there are ALOT. it would be very tough to transplant them up 3 gallons. i really wish i could just fill the entire room with 3 gallon pots from the start but the fact is there isn't enough room to keep them all in that size container until AFTER i have sexed them, and have cut down their numbers by about half.
