I have 2 Lifesaver girls that are close to harvest. They vegged 55 days and today is day 39 of flower. One looks indica while the other has sativa characteristics. The top of the indica is ready to harvest. The trichs are cloudy and amber. However, the middle to bottom part has clear to cloudy trichs. Also she is so heavy from the dense buds I'm afraid she'll fall over. What I'm wondering is if I can harvest just the top and leave the rest until the trichs are to my pleasing. And how do I do this?
This is my first ever grow. I'm so pleased with everything so far. You guys have been very helpful. Thanks

Yes you can do so without harming the plant and actually benefiting the lower portion... simply cut right under the ripe section on the main stem leaving as much stem between the cutting point and the unripe branches as you can... no harm to the plant and they'll love you for the nutes they hadn't been able to get to.

Thanks zeppelindood. I've been reading these forums since January. You guys and gals are great! My very first ever mj grow has been so much fun. It's probably BOG's genetics more than the color of my thumb that has made this such an enjoyable experience.

Yep squirrle exactly like what zepp said..Yeah I havent been that productive for the first couple months.. i was just reading and reading..had to catch up..Although I feel like im drifting off and starting to lurk again

On my last waterfarm harvest I double harvested and I know I got at least an extra oz out of it. The lower buds loved it, and so did I.
