kush?

i have recently become fascinated with kush. i have scored it a few times lately and it has always been killer. is there a source that i can learn more about this strain and its origins? there seems to be a ton of examples of kush and would really like to know more about its lineage. does any one have a good resource for valid info on this strain.

kush is the bizzness. the taste is hard to describe but you all know what im talking about. Good kush has a sour taste, earthy, strong, so god damn tasty. its what all weed should taste like. My favorite is OG that i usually grab at the nearby clubs, but lately i have just been smoking Sour Diesal because its a little cheaper and the taste is still kushy.

no idea if this is 100% true(confirmation would be great), i found it on another forum

Quote:
OG Kush, Bubba Kush and The West Coast Dog.

In late '93 John from Grass Valley Ca. got the Chem Dog cut. He shared it with me, Jerry(cowboy) from Dibble Creek Ca. and Harold(Putz) from Sunset Beach Ca. Putz had a male he called the secret ingredient. It was a cross of Lemon Thai and an Old World Paki Kush. Putz bred the secret ingredient to the Chem Dog. The buds that came out of this cross were going around So. L.A. county in '95. Someone told Putz that Kush must be so good because it was mountain grown. Putz laughed and told him "this Kush is Ocean Grown Kush bro". The tag stuck and it became known as OG Kush. In the spring of '96 Putz married a girl from New Zealand. Before moving there he sent cuts of his OG to me and Bob(beans) in Salinas Ca. He gave all his P1 stock and all the remaining seed he had to Mike(mad dog) from Downey Ca. In late '96 Mike sold some seed to some guys in the Valley. That's where the San Fernando Valley cut of OG comes from. It's like the Original only more sat in pheno type. Mike sold a cut of the original to a guy in Orange county and that cut is called Larry today. It's still around Orange county. Mike sent one other cut of the original OG to a breeder in Europe. As far as I know he never let anyone else have it.
Jerry bred his Chem Dog cut to a Humboldt county indica boy. This was the beginning of his cubing proccess. At BX3 he got a pheno that had all the smell, taste and kick of the Chem Dog, but in a pure indica pheno. Jerry gave this plant to Bob. It became known as the West Coast Dog.
Bob bred this plant to my Old World Kush male. He took a male from that cross and bred it to the OG cut Putz had sent him. This is what made the original Bubba Kush.

^All the knew kushes are not pour kushes, but they are really really good! The real ones are from the hindu kush mountains. It is a fantastic landrace strain, that is extremely euphoric, and you should add it to your garden.

interesting info steve french.( i couldnt help but notice that your cannada has 2 n's in it too). i too would like a confirmation but it sounds pretty cool either way. i know that in general kush is hindu kush from the mountains of the same name. i know that commercially available there is master kush, as well as a few others and i am wondring if the seeds on the market today would be an acurate representation of these same qualities that are recognized in the clones circulating today. it is ridiculas the amount of kush spinoffs there are floating around, to the point that you cant really believe it is more than a marketing plot by by dealers unless you know the real kush smell which was mentioned earlier. before i tried kush i heard it described as so unique that once you smell it you will always recognize it. that earthy spicy, just cant put your finger on it smell. i have had kush from 4 different sources and they have all had the same or very similar smell. it is hard to believe even clone sources as they may not even know themselvs, yet they will give it a name just to play the name game, so i want to start out with seeds that are true and verified. anyone who has tried kush knows how it lives up to its hype which is what impressed me.

That information you found is the most legitimate thing ive heard.

On all acounts ive heard its a chem cross, and with that paki kush being in the back ground it only accounts for the name, and the lemon flavor from the thai only makes sense.

With all of this said, I dont know the true story and this could be a really good fabrication from someone who has no idea what the truth is.

BTW I had no idea the larry was a og kush phenotype. But i knew the sfv was from seed or selfed seed, or even less likely a cross of og back crossed to the og clone...

ANyways this is what im storing in my memory.
