the dam! last time my stay there was very short lived so I didn't get to experience much more than a few coffee shops and a boat ride around. anyone have some must go to coffee shops, great restaurants, sights, and museums (I am an art major) you recommend? I'm going to be there for ten days then its off to brugge!

lol ill check things out there again.. it was a beautiful part of town ;D. i have decided to go to the van gogh museum, anne frank museum, hash museum, and take a bike tour before i try riding around town myself. i ride all over where i'm at but it's not nearly as congested. coffee shops ill be hitting up for sure are grey area, green house (maybe green house effect), amnesia, dampkring, homegrown fantaseeds, pink floyd, maybe some others?? i'm def going to take a boat tour stoned.. and hit up the museum square for other interesting things to tour. no other suggestions guys??

check out the IamAmsterdam package deal, near the central station, they
have their main customer secrive there. They have the best package deals
and you can save lots of money and do all the tourist things

the boat tour that goes outside Amsterdam and shows the newly built areas
is the best, it won some award as the best tour. Went on this boat tour
after smoking a whole joint of Neville's Haze from Haarlem Willie Wortels
Indica coffeeshop, was definately *pleasurable*

also go check out Haarlem, only 15 minutes by train, and check out the Willie
Wortels Sativa and Indica coffeeshops. The Sativa is right by the station,
when you come out look straight and a little to the left, and you will see it

there you can smoke a joint and ask direction to the Indica shop, this is a
must if you are in Amsterdam, do not miss seeing the small city, that is truly
a gem in the Nethrlands...imo

This is where I will be living when I move to the Netherlands in the late fall,
without a doubt!!!

Id forget greenhouse effect and go for the Green Place near nieuwmarkt.
Harleemerstraat is a top street for coffeeshops, Rokerij on the corner, then Dampkring, greenhouse united and Barneys etc.

Heineken museum is worth a look, dont forget the cannabis college and Hemp museum or wotever its called!

nice dude this is good info.. i was for sure thinking about the canna college and hash museum. heineken didnt even cross my mind with all this weed talk, but i'm there. harleem seems nice.. i was wondering where i was gonna find rokerij, damnkring, and barneys (really want to try them out). greenhouse united = green house seed co?

You find these on Harleemerstraat, and the easiest way to find this street is
like this. If you are standing with your back to Central Station you look to
your right and go there. Go across the main street and then just keep
walking straight.

You will pass Daampkring grow shop, and then go a little left past that Raggae
coffeeshop and go across the canal, and you will see a street going straight,
this is it. Before going down the street you will see Rokerij and on the left
side and some other CS, I believe the Doors, but I would keep going straight.

On this street you will find many coffeeshops, but the ones that stand out
are Daampkring, Greenhouse United, and Barneys, the others are okay, but
nothing to write home about, these are all on the right side of the street

Did you go to Haarlem yet? By the way to find Sativa when you come out of
the Haarlem Station, you have to look a little to the right, in the last post
I wrote to the left and it is not. If you did not go, make sure to visit this
place, you will be happy that you did!
