good results can be had from cfl if you set them up properly and close as possible to the plants without burning. theres adapter plugs you can get so you can screw like 4 or more into one socket and they all lay at a slant so it covers more area over the plant. you'll get good bud from them but for the same wattage an hps will give way more coverage. might also want to mix and match different spectrums to get the most bang our of them. good luck!

im growing with cfl's and the produce is excellent. i recommend the 250w lights as they supply enough lumens to supply a fair amount of bud. obviously if you have lots of height above id recommend hps as the results ive seen from those is massive. i would be running an hps but i dont have a very tall cabinet so im stuck with cfl's. they are doing an excellent job and ive manage to keep a constant supply of bud and lots of seeds.

I can't speak for CFLs alone, but I use 4 18" Fluors, supplemented with a 20 watt CFL. It's not much, but my best harvest was a little over 150 g of trimmed, dried bud from less than 2 square feet. 70 days. It was Masterlow.

Lots of people around here use CFLs, The more bulbs you add the better your results will be, so don't be shy!

enough bulbs and you can add up to actually be producing more heat than say a 150 watt hps which is much more efficient

this is very true. 4 x 42w cfls produces a metric shit ton of heat. Believe me.

CFL's produce good buds.. anyone tells you different they probably havent grown with CFLs. Are they the best choice? Well that depends on your situation.. OBVIOUSLY if I had a 10x10ft room I wouldnt be trying to cram in 200 CFL bulbs, but when you're limited on space, CFL's are the way to go. One might say a 150w hps would be just as good in a small space.. again that depends on your situation.. So many variables.
PLAIN AND SIMPLE, CFL's produce good buds. Dont be afraid of the haters you will encounter. You'll hear lots of things including "CFLs suck" "You are a noob" "Why do you grow so shitty" and many others! |
