Pumpkin light cycle
G Day folks,
Does anybody know what are the best light cycles for pumpkins (vegging/flowering) ? Im making an indoor grow under HPS/MH (growroom empty-outdoor time). I forgot to plant them outdoors in early may, so will try to speed things up indoors. They should be big enough till halloween ![]() Thanks |

anything over 12 hours per day will help them grow strong

Actually, since Cucurbitaceae are tropical annuals, they might like the short day of the equator.
Not being a determinate flower like the mary jane we know and love, they don't seem to be sensitive to photoperiod. Once they're sexually mature, they'll start flowering. Pumpkins are monoeceous so its going to throw both male and female flowers. the female flowers will hvae a tiny pumpkin between them and the vine. If you need a hydro feeding schedule for gh flora, im sure we can come up with something between google and the nute-o-rama spreadsheet

yeah, I will grow them in hydro to pack some more weight and make some neighbours kids happy
. when I used to grow them outdoors some horse sh*t and lots of water did the trick , but I guess the hydro system wont handle it . I m looking around a few farmers forums but everyone uses organics...and since nobody is going to eat my pumpkins its a waste of money to use organic nutes...

I picked up some seeds today and am getting them into the ground Thursday! I've never grown pumpkin before and I'm excited about it.
