Let me rephrase my question. If you were going to use a 400w hps in dwc (3 or 5 gallon?i have the 5 gallon) how much room do you think they would require? like right up next to each other or a foot apart or more? Ill be cutting the lower branches(first or second node for cloning at the end of veg. Im thinking anywhere from a 3x3 to 5x5 under a 400w.

Thank you so much for the pictures. Can you get some of each pheno under a better light? Or maybe lights off using a flash would be good. Anything but HPS light.

I guess I have a skyrocket pheno, always called it a spear. Super Super leafy a real bitch to manicure, easy to clone and produces plenty of cuts. This one smells like Ande's chocolate mints in flower. Nice high, I sometimes feel as if it might get "too" intense but it never does. That adds excitement. It doesn't motivate me to do physical tasks but it is an all in the head high. Will herm if flowered too long.

I think I had a spear but it kept herming in mid flower. Most resinous of my three girls. Smelled like dandelions and mint chocolate chip in flower. Always chopped early (nanner factory) so I'm not sure it ever really got me high.

Got a bat pheno(!). Easy to clone but the slow vegging produces very few cuts at a time. This one has the spicy scent in flower. It took me a few times to feel high at first but I was always coming down from another strain before I smoked it. When I finally did get to appreciate the effects, it was an eye opener. Powerful high that I was expecting the first time, but this time I almost wasn't ready for it. Really nice high that I still haven't fully explored the complexities of. I wish I could fill my cab with these, maybe I'll let the mother grow out instead of keeping a small bonzai. Will herm if flowered too long.

I had 4 males but not much room. The conditions I had them in were less than ideal and 3 of them died. The last one never showed signs of stress and it has become my stud Satori. I pollinated my SR and bat satori girls. While the bat is fat with seed, the SR is only showing a few seeded calyxes with a week until harvest. Have not tested the F2 gen yet but I expect to have fun.

Now on to the freaky stuff:
My "spear" pheno hermie pollinated a few plants with interesting results. The few seeds resulting in a satori(F) X satori(F-herm) cross hermed or were males I had no interest in.
A very bubblegum smelling Bubblicious plant produced seeds that grew into 3 phenos, 1 being a short satori type plant with no stretch , 1 being a taller bubblegum smelling, and another taller one, the keeper, that was just pure funk with fat chunky buds and a very good calyx to leaf ratio. I just plucked a few leaves and it was ready to hang. strong odor when drying, almost skunky but very dank with a high worth getting to know better. Looked and smelled nothing like the parents except for the stem growth resembling satori. I'm going to run the last one again.
I have other F1 seeds from the satori herm in a mixed pack of different mothers I may someday dip into.

Outcrossing satori might give some pretty badass plants. My wife wants me to cross it to the White Rhino I grow for her.

Thumbs up for satori

Here's a Q for all the Satoriheads: Do you prune the plants? If so, how much, when, and to what results? I'm a little tight on horizontal space, and wondering as to should I give some ok looking side shoots the chop. Will the plants concentrate enough on the main cola to justify chopping the branches?

I've a few phenotypes one week in to flower from seed, all female:
Two tall summambitches, with little side shoots. One short-statured with medium amount of side shoots. A few medium height with I guess a normal amount of side shoots, one medium height plant with no sideshoots at all but with little growth tips in every node. One triploid with insane side branhing, allmost reaching the main growth tips in hight.

Sweet Inc. It depends on your space. Ive read lots of threads/posts where ppl trim to 4 tops per plant, and stake each branch. IMO 2 is best in 1gallon or less.

Satori branch colas are usually substantial, so be particular with what you chop. But as standard, keep the strongest branches and rid the lowest ones. But use the lowest ones for seeds if you plan to do so. To my liking, one main cola and just the branches that I suspect will boost yeild. This usualy means 2 at the most.

But again it depends on your space, Seems like you have a variety of ladies to work with. Assuming youve made cuts, you have a lot of experimention to do there sir(madame?)

One Q, thanks for the info. I was already about to start cutting untill my cheesebrain remembered this thread
My pots with coco being drip fed are 1,5 gallon, and my space is 3"x3". Too many females from seed, hence the plant count
The very lowest side shoots have been cut to clones, there's still fair amounts of bigger branching wich takes up space.
They're gonna end up growing firmly against each other if not cut to size and that would result in shitty buds.
Biggest leaves are shading alot of the lower growth, I guess most below that need to be anihilated, yes?
I'm just a little cautious when it comes to slashing good looking branches, haven't had to prune before.
Sooo wish I had a camera... Thanks in advance!
