I have read about vertical grows. i am very excited to try this out!!!.
my grow partner and i will be allowed 12 plants (cali medical) and we are wondering what type of vertical setup would be best for 12 plants. we are going for both maximum yield and quality of the buds! i have read the 600W coco thread and am interested in trying to do this. but in that thread the author said that for his system 6 plants was an ideal number. are there any threads i could look at with 12 plants? for a 12 plant vertical what type of light would you recomend? i am thinking of using a 1000 W HPS with a radius of 2 feet. having that be on a pallate or something so that i could have the air being taken in be from a central vent below. using the 6" can fan HO to create 300CFM of airflow and negative pressure. any input would be great!!!! |

I think this is a pretty good question, as i am in the process of going vertical. But on thing i think you should consider, is most not all but most vertical setups are stuffed full of sog style plants, which increases yeild do to the amount of plants you can fit around the bulb, now i know there are vertical tree setups, but if anyone else out there has done verts with low plant counts, bless up.

yeah i plan on growing indica dom plants pretty tall (2 month veg) so that i use the most light possible, and having them be indica dom they will not stretch much.
or maybe in the begining use a small parabolic on top of the light so there is no waste up top. i could build a shelf type box but i would rather not. but 2 tiers of 6 plants around a 1000W (or 2 600s ) with a height of around 5 ft total sounds pretty nice!

vertical is the way to go. my last grow was 14 plants with 3000 watts with sweet pink grapefruit and it yielded a little over 6 lb's. with 20 plants, 7+ lb's easily.
just veg the plants longer then normal and fill out any available space with branches using yoyo's or whatever

Most the vert gardens I see are sea of green in a stadium type setup.
With you only wanting 12 plants, and also a massive yield - I would think growing trees would be best bet for you. Look into krusty or freedom buckets - not saying that is the only way to grow trees, but it looks to be a good one. Though, I am pretty sure most states have rules on canopy size too, and going trees would piss on that in a hurry... |

https://www.icmag.com/ic/gallery/show...=&ppuser=46155 https://www.icmag.com/ic/gallery/show...3&ppuser=46155 Its not hard... Grow your plants tall, put them in a circle around a bulb and put a fan under the bulb. Its really that simple. |
