The Magic Cannabus visits the Hill Temple
I've started a rather unique North #1
It may be a while before I can get them in the flowering chamber, but I'm really looking forward to seeing how they turn out! North #1 has been a very slow grower, but I have a very odd trifoliate, and GMT says that in his experience these become root-bound more quickly. That makes sense. What it lacks in veg speed though, it more than makes up for in density. Distance between internodes is a bit lanky for my liking, but most people would be happy with it I think. I really like to keep my plants as dense as possible. The trunk on it is gonna be a monster, I don't think this is a cindy cross that will have any problems holding itself up. Overall I am very excited about this plant. Probably the most exciting plant in my whole garden. Started with a skunky smell, but now it sorta smells weird, not sure how to describe it. I'll know more when I flower her... Without further adieu, here are some pictures: C99 X DC(left) and North #1(right) with a can of RC for comparison: Lastly, here's a shot of my tiny veg chamber. C99 X DC is way in the back left, and North #1 is right in front of it:

lookin great! dont take their structure to be exactly accurate to phenotype in that veg chamber... the crowding and shading will make them on the lanky side.

Thanks for stopping by Pipeline! I have them on 24 hour lighting so nothing in there actually stretches too much at all. You'd think with that North#1 shading everything that it'd all be stretchy, but the amount of light in the limited space seems to be controlling them ok. I'm just really picky. I'm planning to throw a couple of 2-foot T-8 "under cabinet" fixtures on each side when I have any money whatsoever. When I say they're a bit lanky, it's a relative thing, compared to the others in there. I gave the C99XDC a bit of kinetin and it has filled out a lot better since doing so, and the North #1 got some as well. I'm going to start taking clones of her soon for my outdoor project!

hehe... my bad. Well I guess this is a North #1 thread! They're all interesting and beautiful girls though!
I sorta thought C99 X Deep Chunk = Powerhouse. I guess I don't know the difference....

Thanks for clearing that up
I'm still pretty excited to see how they turn out, I'll be posting results in my diary as they happen. In a week or two when the current generation is harvested, I may be able to get North #1 in there, we'll see!

North #1 trifoliate pheno is now in flower on 6/10/2009! I moved her in between the others. She's small still, about 16 inches, but I think I'm going to get a lot of stretch out of her. She's in a 52oz convenience store cup with an adapted lid. I've been loving these cups. They make incredibly good planters. I get solid roots top to bottom, the lid helps keep light out. They have a small footprint too. Great part is, they're the same size around as cottage cheese containers, grande yogurt containers, and most 44, and 64oz convenience cups. Anyway, after a week or two she'll be moved to an 8 inch pot. I'm just waiting for one of the mature ones to finish ripening. I'm on day 73, but I still feel like most of my plants need at least another week. I had a light leak, but it's fixed now, and my solution made the ventilation even better, so it's a win win all around. I'll update here and in my grow diary!

North #1 is about 42 days into 12/12. She's very frosty, but she didn't get very big. I have no idea how she'll yield at this point. My only complaint right now is that the branches are very fragile. They break so easily it drives me crazy! I can't train it anymore because it's so fragile.
I have 5 clones of it rooted and vegging right now. They are growing way faster than their mother did, so I am hopeful that my better growing techniques have removed some of the problems the first generation has had. They are still expressing the whirling trifoliate branches, but they are clearly mature now too. Their vertical growth is at least 3 times as fast as the mother, maybe more. I can't overstate how slowly their mother vegged. I'm building a new cabinet. I almost have the framing done. It's going to be over twice the floor space, the same amount of fluorescent lighting, and a 250W HPS overhead. Next step I need paneling or plywood to cover the outside of it. Going to do a massive rewiring project. I'm also going to buy a heavy-duty Intermatic mechanical timer(the industrial ones), since I can't get the timer I really want right now locally. All the ballast parts for the HPS will be above the cabinet for heat reasons, and everything will be attached to a GFCI. Big changes coming soon! New pictures too when it does.
