Mystery Pack and Outdoors?
Hey,
i got a question for the breeders from Crazy X Seeds. I acquired a pack of "Mystery pack" from edit.com back in 08. I plan on using these seeds in an outdoor grow, i grew out two of em last fall and got to beautiful females. I found a rather sativa pheno that flowered forever, and one indica pheno reeking of lemons. I don't know anything about what plants were involved in making these seeds, so would you recommend growing some outdoors at 49Northern latitude? (Vancouver island)? Will this work out at all? I currently vegged a sativa looking plant indoors under 24 h light, and planted them outside after the last frost. The thing is a little bush now, and it seems to start flowering (that is a good thing, i'd think). Or would you say i shouldn't expect the plants to properly finish at such a high latitude? Cheers, Rave

With them being a bit of a mixed bag you might find the more sativa plants won't finish until beg to mid nov but the more indica plants should be ready from late sept to late oct.
The sativas(big haze, malonica) haven't really been tested outdoors but the lemon indica(lemon stinky) will be ready by the second week of oct. There are other var's which haven't been tested at all yet.If you want the sativas to flower in time you might need to force flower them by covering them up with a lightproof material or you could bring them indoors and wack em in the dark for 12 hours a day.Theres also some biddy early hybrids which can be very light sensitive so going from 24 hours of light to 16-17 hours might make em flower like you say might be happening now with em.

Hey Marijuanamat,
thanks, that info was just what i was looking for. By the looks of it, the one sativa lady that got placed outdoors is showing pistils all over the place. She was under 24 hours of light, and got placed outside in the beginning of april. I can't say anything about the other 6 plants, they are just too small to tell 'em appart yet. I realize that using a "mixed bag" is not ideal for an outdoor grow, but, whatever, i'll make it work. I can't put the plants inside no more, since i transplanted them into mother earth 2 weeks ago. Lets hope early frost doesn't ruin the fun, but the last winter here was rather mild, with the first frost at Nov 26. So i hope i'll be fine growing them trees outdoors Also, would you suggest to have the seedlings (i grow them indoors untill they reach 4 - 5th node) under 18/6 light instead of 24/0 ? Or should i give them 17 hours of light, just like they would outdoors?

There is a chance they might flower quicker going from 24/0 to outdoors, when i veg indoors and put indica dominant varieties outdoors(54*N) in the 2nd/3rd week of july they start flowering by the 1st/2nd week of august and can be harvested from late sept to mid oct,but i've only tested malonica outdoors from my mostly sativas and they were ready 1st/2nd week in november. It'll be interesting to see how they do on vancouver island,i would of thought they would be ready slightly earlier with you being slightly further south.
