Hey inhabitants of emerald isle!! i got a question for you guys living in the republic of ireland! My mom's moving to dublin this summer... so i guess ill be there really often, how is it with cannabis laws? harsh or soft?

Quality for hash or grass for sale is very poor, unless you know someone who grows the good stuff.

In general the police (Gardaí) do not strictly enforce laws of all types in Ireland.

Alot depends on the cop you meet on the day.

It always pays to be discrete.

From my own experiences the gardai tend to target the 15-25 age group when it comes to on the spot searches it's almost like they age profile the younger members of society.

Also a lot depends on your appearance i mean if you have dreds and walk around with a big hash leaf t-shirt then your asking to be searched by a bored cop.

Anyways it should not really worry you as i doubt you will be silly enough to try score weed on the open market over here....street dealers just sell crap thats not worth smoking.

gosh here you sometimes find some pretty decent pot on the streets =| well i guess i'll have to give up my smoking habit everytime i'll be in dublin

Would not be wise to bring it wiff me on the plane, even if switzerland is into schengen

Still, if i score some weed i should not have any problem, my look completely differs from the regular pot smoker and i can behave like a tourist XD

Yeah you're right man, not worth the risk, and anyways, plane ticket costs 20 euro, so no problem i'll be there so much that sooner or later i'll make some friends

. . keep ur business to urself & you will be fine, the garda only patrol 'council area's really (gangster housing estates), if your in a private estate you'll be fine, smoke it only in ur home & you'll never have problems, their very good people at home, but they are only prefecting the weed growing etc, you'll love it over there . .
