Famous people that have passed away

I had no idea that Bea Arthur died. I read it on the cover of People Magazine today...haven't read the issue yet, but I'm so saddened. I lost my Grandmother (my other Mother) when I was 8...we watched The Golden Girls all the time. That is the show that I still watch when I'm sad, need comfort or just want to laugh and remember grandma Betty.

I just wanted to share that with you ladies....

Some celebrities/actors/musicians etc... remind us of special things. What famous people that have died do you remember being sad over? What made them special to you?

I always loved the Golden Girls but I was more like Blanche the zany oversexed southern one. I like her attitude. But all the women roles in that series are great role models for us older. Bea will be missed. I think the lady who played her mom died recently also.
But it is classic comedy FO SHO!

Oh no!!! Sofia? Wait...let me think of her name....Estelle Getty!!! I miss grandma Betty :( I lost all of my grandparents really young. I have one left, my Dad's Mom...but she had to raise some of her 8 kids children, so I never got to be close to her.

I want to watch the Golden Girls and get the cry out of the way....jeez.

For some reason I feel deeply connected to these artists, I felt sadened when Kurt Cobain from Nirvana died, same as the lead singer of Sublime, Jimi Hendrix, of course Mac Dre.

Jimmy Hendrix of course......I am amazed at all the young black ppl who have never heard of this great guitarist,,,,

Many young don't know who Janis Joplin was......the first female rocker in my era. I was blessed with toking with her in Texas before she became so famous. I was touched by her great presence and she was inspiring to young Texas girls in those days....I know she died of a heroin dose but I loved her and understand why.

Jimmy and Janis RIP
