Where's the beef?

Hello all,

Well, I was at a bbq last friday. At which I was served a steak that was to die for.

It was an orgasm in my mouth.

When I asked what kind of steak I was told he did not know but that it came form the meat store down town.

Anyway, I went to the meat store today and bought about 40 bucks of meat.

This stuff was red and deep looking, aged if you will.

Then we went to the winco for groceries and while there I looked at the same pieces of meat I purchased earlier.

The price was not significantly lower but what was noticable was the color and texture....anyway, will be having some london broils tomorrow.

So, were do you get your meat?

True dry aged beef will appear to be black on the outside.

Peter Luger's and Smith an Lewinsky's are known for this.

I get fillet for $4.50 a kilogram!!!!

I am not a huge fan of Filet, but USDA Prime can cost up to 25 bucks a pound. That's top notch beef though.

I like Ribeyes, specifically bone-in.

Just as a comparison, wagyu beef filet mignon costs $70 per POUND............





















and that's the wholesale price, when you buy the whole filet!

Yeah, that's Kobe grade beef, and is usually served barely seared.

The cows are massaged with beer.

I saw a 8oz. filet on a menu one time for 90.00 bucks. Al a carte.
