Hey all,
I'm a fairly new grower, started late last year, and have about 10 harvested plants under my belt. (Bagseed, Shiva Shanti & Master Kush). Pretty happy with results so far - but hey, things can only get better. So, I currently have a bit of trim - some from bagseed, some from Shiva Shanti (really frosty!), and the odd popcorn buds. I've made a bit of Ice hash, using just the old shake the jar method - came out OK, not a lot of it . Made some QWISO - not to my liking. Love scissor/finger hash. (I'm older, but spent lots of time travelling in India in the mid '70s to early '80s, and I LOVE charas, and all types of hash. Lately I've only been betting Moroccan while in Spain.)I'm going to keep on trying different hash methods - next up is to get some screen and sift either buds or the frosty Shiva Shanti trim. But enough about me So I've seen a few of those Stash / keif collector boxes - love the one that Gypsy sells - and am considering it. Question: What else is out there - like cheaper? I've seen a few things online, or peoples pictures of their boxes, but WHERE online can I get a reasonably (cheap?) stash box? Just love the idea that after crumbling buds for a while, I can get some pure keif to press. Any pics of stash boxes, brand names or Web sites would be appreciated. I'm in the US, so would prefer a US shipper, but I'm not ruling out Europe. (I travel there a bit - at least once a year - though mostly to Spain.) Thanks in advance for any tips DonnyB |

Hi, DonnyB.
do you have the book Hashish by Robert Connell Clark?? he talks a lot about charas and all other ways to make hash. great book. Bubblebags seem to be the most efficent wet extraction. There are some reasonably priced tumblers available for automated dry sifting. Stash boxes and Bubblebags are both available at SeedBay.>seedBay if you are handy, you could fashion something at home for less $$$ enjoy whatever you may find!

Sleepy... (I need to wake up  )
Thanks for the reply. Don't have that book, but have heard good things about it. Yeah, I may make a dry sifter with screening... but I saw some posts SOMEWHERE??? showing some really "cute" smaller stash boxes. I may get that tumbler at okief.com, or just build a frame myself. I'm familiar with seedbay... and am VERY tempted by Gypsy's boxes... Time will tell... but I will certainly "enjoy". Don |

Wicca Screen Size
Quote:
Does anyone what screen size the Wicca Box has? I gently ran about 1 oz of frosty trim and got about 3 g of blond kif. Nice! I think it's a pretty fine mesh; I'll try a 2nd run with a bit of pressure, but I got a feeling that not much more will pass thru (though I can SEE that there's plenty of trichs left on the trim). It's probably a good size mesh for it's intention, ie passsive collection. I ground maybe 2 smallish buds over the screen and can see a nice dusting just from that. Anyway, nice to get some kif so easily!

Gypsy Nirvana's stash-boxes are the best quality and most impressive boxes available on the market ...friends of mine and myself own just about every model stash box! - I have the solid rosewood construction with rosewood veneer and a high gloss lacquer finish - the top of the range model..the mesh screen is 100 lines per inch (which is ideal for passive collection as you prepare your buds on the screen..and if gentle, you can actively dry sift the material with the scraping card or gently shake the screen frame together with the lid and glass collection plate )....matching rose wood grinder, GN scraping card ...
cigar humidors made to the same quality material, specs and finish would retail in the USD$200 range...you can buy GN stashboxes at auction on seedbay.com for around $100 plus shipping...an excellent price I've used my Gypsy Nirvana stash-box hourly, daily for over 4 years (oops, I'm sounding a touch spammish now!) ......it's got a few scratches on it, I've patched a few minor holes in the mesh (small piece of sticky tape pressed over the hole from underneath) ..but with a bit of a clean up with furniture polish and scrape out inside - it still scrubs up nice!....the high gloss "piano" black lacquer finish over beechwood stash box is slightly lighter in weight so is much easier to heft around from table to lap. but there are a few improvements I'd like to see - there is a gap on either side of the bottom of the screen frame where it meets the glass, this needs to be filled in to prevent any trics floating away when actively shaking, but that's not a problem when passively collecting kif or when carding with the frame inside the box.....and I feel the side storage area could be deeper and larger to handle more of my bits-n-pieces and other smoko stuff (never enough room!)... many of the innovations first found in the range of GN's stash boxes are now found today in other boxes similar to Gypsy's....locks, side storage, scrapers, inner frame covers, matching grinders, high gloss lacquer finishes, non-scratching felt base and the idea of having a locking "high" level box suitable to keep all your smoking gear that is ergonomically correct for use on the lap or table that would appeal to smokers of fine herbs.........skinning up a spliff on a mag or frisbee is like eating off the floor after using a quality stash box like Gypsy's rose wood deluxe box...you'd be surprised just how much trichomes are wasted and lost on fingers and the floor....always use a grinder to break up your bud and always prepare your bud over a screen so zero resin heads are lost! ganja resin costs many times more than gold dust! the wiccas have a 120 lpi mesh screen..which is idea for active dry sifting..but the screen area is much smaller. the Wicca boxes are based very closely on Gypsy's original stash-box designs.....Gypsy's limited edition grey stained bird's eye maple veneer boxes have a similar or finer mesh screen to the wiccas (Rezdog has one of these too, I think?) |

the kif boxes with the pull out drawer/trays are not the best idea as lots of resin dust gets stuck under and beside the pull out plate..and this is difficult to retrieve as well....
drawers and trichomes do not go well together! |

BTW, Gypsys box was my 1st choice, but being impatient and in the US I was able to get the Wicca in 3 days. Love it. May go to Amsterdam in the fall - and if I do I'll check out G's shop there. Later... DB |
