Post Pipeline Gardens 2009:::: HTC Test Grow

Spring has sprung and its time for another growing season.... We have a heck of a lineup this year, and many of the lines are related to HTC releases. Here I will focus on the official HTC test seed, but will occasionally do updates on HTC related gear growing out in the gardens. For continuous updates following the entire grow, feel free to swing by my 2009 thread in the Outdoor Growing Forum.

Here's the germination lineup....

Skunk #1

Seed has been planted and damn near everything is up! Excellent germination success rates were seen using a standard direct sowing method. Seed was put underneath a 15 watt warm cfl for several minutes before planting. Germination temperatures were a constant 75-80 degrees.

Just about everything had a 3/3 germination!

Complete germination success was seen with the HTC test seed! Extremely viable...

5/5 Skunk IBL '08
5/5 OG Kush x Jamaican Jam '08
10/10 Bubba Kush x Deep chunk F2 '07

Will update soon when they are transplanted to 3 inch Anderson band containers with soilless media with Plant-Tone organic fertilizer. Spring is here, its time....

Germed 4/28/09

3/3 (Erocket x Danish passion) x Deep chunk

Night Hail Ultra x Deep chunk

Night Hail Ultra x Deep Chunk

(Erocket x Danish Passion) x Deep Chunk

Kept running out of time in good sun so a warm spectrum cfl will do.... Showing the seed light containing red wavelength helps to promote germination success... Its based on part anecdotal evidence part plant physiology theory, I believe this technique is effective...

The small containers in front contain 5 different hybrids that are being resown due to low germination... Thats all that needed resown out of all those! I have a strong feeling the red-light technique works... The ones that didn't have as good germination success tended to be the older seed...

Thanks goyakla! You've got some very interesting hybrids going out this year! Look forward to hearing about them! I don't quite understand all the exact details of the hybrids you posted about, but I can see they have solid lineages used.... Start up a thread in the HTC forum (not test grow forum) and let us know how they're doing every once in a while!

snowman06 will become famous soon enough
Love the line up. I am starting my outdoor grow under the good old cfls to. What kind of soil mixures are we talking about using. I mixed organic blood and bone meal with manure containg humus and this fertilzer that has crab and feather meal and micro bacteria that helps the root growth and a little bit of vermiculight.

The seedlings are out underneath a cold frame now... This a soilless media containing pine bark, peat, perlite, and vermiculite. Its a very good all purpose media without fertilizer! I use Plant-tone 5-3-3 fertilizer made by Espoma mixed in at a rate of approx 1:25 or less. Thanks for following along! Sounds like you've got a very nice media going on over there as well... By the way all manure contains humus...
