For those that eat lunch at work, what do you bring?

In an attempt to improve my diet and reduce my unnecessary spending, I've decided to quit the whole McDonalds/Taco Bell/Subway/microwave TV dinners for lunch at work thing, and I want to start preparing my own lunch. I've tried before, but I get bored of / sick of eating the same thing for an entire week which is usually what I end up doing (Different types of sandwhiches, blah!)

I'm looking for small meals that aren't too complicated to prepare, can be refrigerated and microwaved, don't require spending lots of money or having tons of leftovers (which leads to eating the same thing for days on end, which leads to me getting bored/sick of it)

What do you guys bring for lunch to work?
Any good recipes or ideas other than the usual PB+J/Ham'n'Cheese sandwiches?

Come on guys noone eats lunch at work? or does everyone just do Applebee's takeout?

Made myself an egg salad sandwhich for lunch today, was good, but probably wont be able to stomach another one for a few weeks. And now I'm ripping some pretty nasty farts.
I wonder if it would be totally outrageous of me to try and bring breakfast for lunch tomorrow... I'm thinking pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs.... just waiting to be reheated in the microwave (I'll have to look into the eggs)

Any ideas?

Breakfast is good any time of the day. pancakes and sausage sounds great. Me, if I bring a lunch, it's usually pastrami on wheat, or something similar. I work for a nation-wide healthy food store, so I'm surrounded with vendor samples all the time- don't have to bring my lunch too many times..

Pasta salads were my thing. Very interesting what you can put in it and also the different vinaigrette you make up for every meal.

strydr: food samples.... mmmmmm :-) lucky you!

love?: Pot noodles... Hmm... you may be on to something. I've seen threads about ramen noodles with weed... might make it worth eating ramen!

jefff: Pasta salad sounds great! Thats the kinda idea I'm looking for!
Whats your favorite way to make it?

Today my girlfriend dropped off a homemade salad with lots of onions, and this microwavable bowl of brown rice... was a surprise, and was great! Healthy, too!
Yesterday I woke up late and ended up doing Taco Bell for lunch... ugh!

I like to cook a couple of chicken breats at the begining of the week and then toss them in a quick salad before work and munch on that. it seems monotonous but if you have a variety of dressings then you can rotate.

Chicken + Lettuce + Spinach + Cucumber = mmmm

Sounds good to me! And you're right, with a small collection of different dressings, salad can be kinda different every time!

Yes, dressing's. I think about them as same as (gravy on potatoes), (sauce on pasta), (topping's on ice cream). Put the wrong one on, or one with a taste you don't like and there goes what you put it on also. However....... get on the right track and go from there and it just gets better!!!!!!!!!!
