Any tips on how to go about mounting a simple pyrex bakearound tube and ducting to this hood?

This is the simple design hood reflector i have to work with...

but the outer hole is not flush with the globe so i cant run the tube strait through.......

Maybe attatch the flexible ducting to the outer hole and swivel it to fit onto the pyrex tube?

Am i even making sense?

Block that hole and cut another at the right place?

I used one of these thingys and wraped it around the bakearound and mounted it to top of the hood.

Hey Leeroy why not keep the hole and geta thin sheet of glass and place that in the bottom of ur reflector...get wot i mean...also have the fan blowing over the bulb not sucking the air thru the reflector.....it cools it better that way according to my grow shop and they are usually right wen it comes to that sort of thing...good luck

yes i am trying to mastermind the same thing. i think by makin a inlet and an outlet that sucks through your tube with the right cfm fan it will cool it just fine. a 620cfm inline fan will cool 3 1000 w lights. just run the inlet duct from the outdside and the outlet duct to the outside that way you can have a sealed invironment and not exaust your room air and waste co2. get an a/c in the room with an ionic breeze ionizor to keep the air clean and you will be rockin. i exaust all the heat from my light in a seperate chamber( see my gallery) than my room. so i dont have heat problems at all. where did you get the bakearound tubes? i'm lookin into getting 6 600 w lights with the cool tube system..only 250 each but i might build my own if it works...exausting the heat totally from the light is the best bet in my opinion.all this trouble with trying to cool the bulbs with fans and exausting your room air and keeping the lights far from the plants is just a waste and it costs more. if the lights are cool to where you can grab them then you can grow right up to the lights and achieve max yealds.You are on the right track and i'm glad to see someone with my idea makin it happen!!!. anyone who says this is not a good idea is crazy...
