NON-Cannabis Mothers, What do u have, how do u do it, and what are your clone methods

Was wondering how many of u have mother plants of other plants besides cannabis. how do u grow them? what kind of plants r they? What r your cloneing methods for the summer? was wondering because i usually buy and grow from seed each year which costs me money, time, and more effort than it would if i just had a few mothers i kept alive all winter long and in spring could be ready. Was just wondering if any of u guys do this and how. have successful cloned tomatoes but thats it. i stuck a pepper plant in water and tried cloning it but it never produced a root, but is producing a pepper in nothing but a class of tap water. Kind of unbelieveable.

lol, thats pretty neat. Not too farfetched though considering I always find little peppers growing inside peppers I buy from the store.

I have a Christmas Cactus that I keep taking clippings off of every couple months, and I was looking at the basil plants that I have started in my grow box, because it seems to grow pretty similar to weed(at least structure wise, and it responded well to topping). But for the cactus, and most other house plants I have tried it on, just set a cutting from it in a cup of water, and replace the water everyday, and they grow roots in about a week or two. I was at the doctors office the other day and I swiped a runner off of a spider plant, and it it shooting roots all over the place, with just leaving it in water.
P.s. I haven't really tried rooting hormone with this method, but I am sure it would help the harder to root plants

I second this.

There are a huge number of plants that will clone easily in water. I'm growing sage, dill, lavender, peas and beans. Not sure about the peas and beans as mums but definitely good for cuttings as well as all the herbs.

your pepper sprout is in death mode. it wont root as long as its concentrating on making a pepper before it dies.

i do peppers all the time in rockwool, but the problem with cloning peppers is it changes the growth habit from upright to sprawling

tomatoes are even easier. they'll root in humid air.

back when i played with a power cloner fogger mister thingie I once cloned a ficus tree

peppers are perennials. they dont stop making peppers unless the temps go out of range. peppers and tomatoes are all about temperature

on your cutting, yes snip off the pepper and any blossoms.

Tomato's & Habanero's here. I have a post a couple threads down form this one. I have't tried clonning, but i will as soon as these get bigger. I'm growing all organic and love it.

Any body got any experience with strawberries?

Thanks,
Peace.

The only non-cannabis mom I keep is a salvia divinorum plant. It's kept in a glass dome and because of the humidity will throw aerial roots like crazy. I just clip it right below one of these roots and throw it in a peat puck. Salvia clones much easier than any other plant I've messed with.
