My floro cab with 12 vertical t8 bulbs
Here is my completed cab. There are 8 23w cfls in two back to back vanities which is home made. 12 - 32w t8 bulbs on the back and side wall.
These plants are from very stinky bagseed and were germinated March 01 2009. I have two 6 inch ventilation fans, one intake, one exhaust. The cab is all light proof, and very descrete besides the light humming of the fans. The lights are on 18/6 and when they are sleeping the cab goes down to 65-70f and when their awake its running about 80-83f ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ------------------------ and here is a weird mutant leaf.. has anyone experienced soemthing like this?

You have some beautiful plants there! Perhaps you may wish to look at my grow for a more effective way to use T8 lamps. They can give you great results. Here is a sample picture. Follow the links in my signature if you want to know more, or have any questions to ask.

it looks to me like your double vanity is to high. since cfl's run so cool they should only be a few inches away from the plants. moving them closer will increase the lumens your plants receive.

magiccannabus, thanks for your reply
I notice some of your bulbs are the "warm color" is it effective to use different spectrums of bulbs? I will look more into your grow ![]() Ha-Sith0506 my problem is I have some plants larger then others. besides my seeds, I have a female clone which is taller then the rest. I've topped it three times now, and I keep the light just a couple inches from it. Im really limited on space too, I have 13 plants total, and so when I pick out the males, I will have alot more space to work with ![]() Thanks for the feedback everyone

This is the cab I've wanted to build for years, and now I'm really excited because so far it's working wonderfully. I have 2 different phenotypes of Trainwreck X Sour Diesel in there(if you look at the picture they are the left two. Then I have a Purple Haze in the back right, and Trainwreck X Colombian Gold on the front right. I'm starting to worry some of these are going to out grow their space, but not by too much. I planned this fairly well thus far it seems, though veg did take ages. To fully utilize vertical tubes, you need to grow your plants tall and lanky in veg, but train the secondary nodes out sideways so you get colas all up and down the plant, and all around it as well. Most vertical tube grows I have seen lack proper training. They just let the plant go and don't control it. I contend that you benefit the most from careful strategy.

magiccannabus , i appreciate your helpfulness!!
![]() As far as veggin my plants tall and lanky, I can see your point for sure, but I am very limited on time, as I am leaving the country this summer. Sadly im thinking of putting these into flower soon. I have alot more vertical space to work with, but just not the time to veg. I will definatly keep your info in mind for future grows!

I agree with everyone about the double vanity fixture. Looks very slick.
Anyway, I'd recommend then that you turn those tubes on their side, and put half of them on one side and half on the other. Sort of like a tanning bed. I think for such limited height at the start of 12/12, that will help you a lot. You're currently lighting a lot of space where there's no foliage, but that's not the end of the world. This setup could totally work as-is, you just might get better yields with them spread out and laying down. T8 can grow incredible bud, don't let anyone discourage ya!
