Versailles is on a distinguished road
Hello,
I'm quite happy to see that post!
2 plants with 7 seeds...and i've also paid 150$ for the seeds . Even if i've received 11 seeds, I'm not sure to find the right mum.
Maybe the seeds were too fresh, so I'll let my last seeds dry for another month at least.
Do you think that we must scarified the seeds (with sand paper for example)?
Those are the most expensive beans i've bought...hope that it won't be just a waste of money.

Yeah, I had that happen with a C99. Out of pack of 8 non-crushed seeds and 3 crushed, 5 germed and 1 is dying. 4/11 survivors isn't a good ratio. The seeds had the classic tiger striping, but all looked a bit light. Just hope I get a decent female.

After talking to some of the forum members I found out they're having problems with germination. Some waited for 10 days. I decided to try scarification. Here's what I wrote. C/P:

Scarifying WallyDucks C99:

Ok. Based on the situation I decided not to wait. After approx 36 hours I scarified 3 out of 6 seeds. I've checked them 12 hours later and nothing. But today 24 hours after scarifying I was in for a surprise. Scarified seeds all germinated. I placed them into a peat pellets and I hope they sprout normally. I scarified the other 3 also.

I used ordinary shaving razor. I did small cuts and "pealed" the outer thin shell, was very carefull when cutting on the opening side of the seed. I hope I didn't damage them in any way. Be carefull. I didn't use scuffing method becouse I simply didn't have any sand paper on hands.

Good luck!

Update:
6/6 sprouted and are now hapilly growing. I even damaged one of the leaves with a razor but plant survived.

I would expect to have no problems with seeds this expensive. I hope I get some good smoke out of these

Seedboutique did not respond to my complaint btw.

I bought 3 packs of these, and I really don't have room / time to pop my seeds and check.

Once wally / boutique has an answer please let us know. I will keep watching
