Blatant Goes Webby!

So I hear you wanna learn about NFT.....Also I heard you wanna hear about Aeroponics. Well this is your lucky day! What we have here is a lil thread about both. Both you say? Yes both. But not side by side. Oh No! Then what you ask?......... Well what we have here is a Aero NFT hybrid. A Hydroponic Tube/Channel System fitted with Sprayers that deliver highly oxygenated nutrients over a plants root zone. It combines the Flow/Stream of nutrients from the NFT systems with the application of Sprayers/Misters to deliver the nutrient cocktail.

In no way is this my design
I was put onto NFT by a High Times article a few years back and built my own design from the plans given in the magazine. It has since been the best thing I have come across in growing. From then on I have been reading up on it and learning other ways people have applied it. I came across "Webfish's" thread on Webby Tubes on Cannabis World . It's from his design that he layed out there, that I have built mine. He has gone through all the trials and tribulations as to give me the proven results I am looking for. So I thank webfish for sharing with us his design. I am gonna take his design and do a miniature version for C-13 cabinet. Sound Like Fun? Yah I know.............

Putting It All together!

Putting It All together!

Assembly
I'll start with the the Channels.
Take your 4" ABS and cut holes into the center of the writing going along the side with the 3" hole saw. This will make sure your net cups line up straight. Depending on the style of growing, how you space your net cups is up to you. I'm only using four so I position them evenly spaced apart.Like so.

Next you wanna take your 1 1/8 hole saw and pop some holes on opposite sides of the net cups for the end caps with the spinners to go into. Like Dis.

Cobra Tube Assemly
First get your 1/2" End Caps and drill a hole (9/64) in the middle, or as close as your bloodshot eyes can get. Then get your Tap and bore out the threads for your Roto-Spinners.

Your Roto-Spinners should fit nice and snug in the tapped holes now.

Now take your Cobra Tubes (Blue) and make sure to wrap a lil teflon tape around the threads to insure a tight seal.

Then screw them into the T's and Right angle. Take your end caps with the Roto-spinners attached and screw them in to the other end of the Cobra Tubes. The end result should be this.

Resevoir
Take your 4" Hole saw pop a couple holes into your resevoir for the Channels to drain into.

Plumbing
Putting all these PVC parts together and attaching it to the pump is the last thing we got to do. So figure out what lengths of 1/2 PVC your gonna need to connect all the fittings and cut em. Put all these together and were almost done.

Pump
Since Resevoir heat is always a concern and my resevoir is small I'm going to run my pump externaly and use a aquarium heater to keep the resevoir within optimum temp. range. So I ran a hose from the pump into the resevoir and Voila!

This is pretty much it. I'll be doing a run on Kali Mist with these. So this should be interesting. It may turn into a SCROG in the Cabinet if they get to big. So stay tuned.

This run is gonna be a learning experiance for myself until I figure this thing out and am able to dial it in. I'll be using a mix of Botanicares Products and Advanced Nutrients' Additives. I'm not worried about clogging due to the inline filter, which I'll will change once a week. Other than that I'm excited to see how I can screw this one up. :chin:

I'll answer any questions you have. Or if you want to get more info on this design and what its capable of doing just give "Webby Tubes" a search on Cannabis World. Once again much props to Webfish of CW.

Completely awesome. I love how you applied it to a c-13, could you add 2 extra holes for a c-22? Truly awesome blatant

Ohh and where do you find cobra hoses, roto spinners, thread tab, inline filter?

WHAT was an approximate cost for this set-up?

Protege: You can get the Roto Spinners at your local OSH, Lowes, HomeDepot,,, I got the same brand but i got the 360 misters,,unfortunately my pump, in the cloner I got those for, wasn't big enough to make um work, so I kicked um to someone who could use um in his system. Make sure the ones you buy, you have a big enough pump for  something I didn't do in my stoner absent-mindedness:biglaugh:

Awesome thred to btw Blatant!!

Thanks for the Vibes!

Everything but the Net Cups can be found at Home Depot.

(2) 4" 90º angles: 8$ (4$ a piece)
(1) 1/2" PVC Pipe: 3$
(2) 4" End Caps: 5$ (2.50$ a piece)
(6) 1/2" Cobra Hoses: 16.50$ (2.50$ a piece)
(2) Pack of Roto-Spinners: 10$ (5$ a pack)
(6) 1/2" End Caps PVC: 1.20 (20¢ a piece)
(6) 1/2" Fittings: 3$ (50¢ a piece)
(1) Inline Filter: 10.00$
(1) Pump: 43$
(1) Rubbermaid: 4.50$

Total
w/o Pump: 66.20$
w/ Pump:109.20$

~Tools~
(1) Teflon Tape: 1$
(1) 10-29 Tap: 4.50$
(1) 4" Hole Saw: 22$
(1) 3" Hole Saw: 10$

Here's what is goin on with this system. I have been in the process of finishing my grow closet and have been keeping the clones under low light (40 watt shop lights) while running the system. Even under the low light it has done well and as expected ROOTS. Coming from nothing peeking out of the net cups to this in about 3 weeks.

The spinners spraying away!

I'll be starting a grow thread on the Kali Mist clones in the system so if anybody has questions on the system itself ask here.

Blatant.

Looking good. I use a little root development nutrients during that phase as well. I am changing out my system for a dual tank in a custom c13 style cabinet for bloming. I need one tank for phase one bloom and a second tank for final phase flushing. I have the tanks and pumps finished, and I am waiting fo my sealants to set up.

I love aeroponics!

Good grow with the kali Mist.

Ooooh Dual Tank huh? That sounds fancy. If anyone can do it I'm sure you can.....

A good automated system will save you some worries thats for sure and it seems like you got a good plan goin'. C'mon glue! Damn them sealants. Hurry up and set. Well as in Love making and Hydroponics A good air tight seal is essential :YaRight:

You've been telling me aero is where its at. And I could'nt agree more. Hows the desert treating ya?
