Question clones drooping

i took some clones off of my mother plant.. first time growing and first time taking clones, first time sexing my mother.. first time. anyway i took some clones, went to work, came home and checked on the grow room. my clones are all bent over.. is this normal? or is there something i did wrong.. i grow in soil.. took my cutting, cut it again on a 45 degree angle, scraped the sides of the stem and dipped it in some rooting hormone gel. then i stuck them into 16oz party cups with moist potting soil. hopefully ive given enough info for you guys to diagnose my problem

BuzzBoy

edit: relative humidity is always up in the room around 50 if not more.

BuzzBoy- What you need to do is cut a 2 liter soda bottle in half to make a humidity dome for your clones. Spray the inside of the “dome” with the water not the clone directly twice a day. I had only spotty results with soil cloning. You should try rapid rooter plugs or a the least pure pearlite as the rooting medium.

yup hes right!
clones will droop no matter what you do.....
just the thing is trying to get them to droop not as much...
have humidity around 75% and spraying the dome like maddlights said saves alot of time!

and remember one rule of thumb..... DONT PULL THEM OUT TO CHECK FOR ROOTS! lol its like telling a stoner you cant have your weed right now..... very hard indeed

just let them sit there, dont touch muk with them, more they are messed with they take longer to root

i think thats the biggest problem honestly i have seen with people not being able to root clones... cause they pull them out of there medium and check on them......

so just letting ya know so you wont get let down if something doesnt work :(

There is an EXCELLENT thread written by Caprichoso.
He says to put your cutting into a glass of water and within 2 weeks it will root properly,
He explains how here,

You need a humidity dome for those girls. I keep the humidity as high as possible until the roots show. Once they root you should remove the dome. They are wilting because without roots they need to absorb moisture from the air.

Oh yeah, and you don't want the lights really close for a while either. Good luck with those.

They are under a humidity dome. I had the humidity around 50-60% at most times. They seemed to be drying out alot. So I cut some 2 litre bottles in half and put them over my cuttings. I can actually see some moisture on the inside of the bottles.

Its hard to be patient first time around.. worry about everything and not fully sure whats going on or whats gonna happen next lol. Lots of fun.

Thanks guys and gals
