Hi Folks,
I watched two people I know via forums have amazingly successful grows outdoors and in a greenhouse with Casey Jones, but both were west coast grows, so i'm wondering if anyone has experienced growing CJ outside in a warm humid east coast summer? I've got a good size vegetable garden and i can comfortably fit two to three good size plants, but no more than that...so i've I want to pick thoughtfully what I’m going to plant in the garden this summer. Last summer my choice of genetics was much more limited and i grew a purplicious and 2 columbian sativas (that grew from bagseed dating back to 1991). The purplicous finished fine by mid Sept, but September was warm and rainy and both sativas had to be harvested about 3-4 weeks early because they started to get some mold. What do you think about Casey Jones in this sort of summer conditions you'd expect in the greater NYC area? I've got 5 or 6 other strains to choose from, but CJ is my favorite. If you would recommend against it I’ll focus on growing CJ indoors and choose something else for outside. I have two different CJ phenotypes as moms. I've got the Sour Diesel dominant pheno, and a more middle range Trainwreck / SourD. Both are awesome. The Sour Diesel (CJ-B) produces bigger yields but is more sensitive...and the Trainwreck / SourD (CJ-C) is a more vigorous plant and is easier to keep happy. …any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. peace, - eyes88 |

casey outside
On the scale of things I suck at this stuff but... Two years ago I grew casey jones inside -> successfully cloned it -> then vegged that clone for a month or so and tossed it outside in early march and it flowered out. I'm on the east coast, probably below both of you. Hot - 110% humidity but it was not that bad when this flowered.
It was incredibly dry during the time - like kick up dust around the plants when walking but I think I only watered twice. The plant that I cloned was some funk. Too bad I wasn't smart enough to hold on. The Casey clone is the one in front completely flowered out. The other plants were from seed and reveged and flowered out at the end of summer. ![]() I have another pack of casey from the last offering. I vegged three of them for a month and a half in 3 gallon bags and tossed them out trying to do the same thing. I made clones so I can try and put some more out for a real summer grow.

I used to live in Jersey....
Not sure, I'd say odds are about 50/50 of complete success, finding the earliest one will be critical, plus a nice sunny spot. Good Luck!!! SD

Then screw on cap( nice and tight!) under water making sure not to trap any air. Leave dripper line at ~8cm. long. Give the pot a good watering. Insert B/M snugly into nicely compacted soil(not too loose) . Open till water comes out, carefully close until just a drop barely forms. Tighten 1.75 - 2 Arrows Adjust as necessary for a few days, then leave it alone! "He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. a good friend of mine grew Casey Jones in a greenhouse last summer. The plants were about 8 feet tall when she harvested them. She lives in North Cali

hi eyes88
i recommend you use that CJ-c cause this plant will probably be more moldresistant and can take more humidity( i have very high humudity in my hoophouse, especially in october) without problem also due to more open flower structure than diesel phenos ans starts to flower week earlier, maybe week is much ..., but its just from my experience and i grow from seedhere are some details how looks ultimate outdoor-greenhouse cj pheno, in my opinion of course i think this pheno has all those wrecky signs and its lanky, tall peace kali |

Thanks folks for your suggestions and recommendations...
i don't think my "CJ-C" pheno is quite as trainwrecky as Kali's but it's definitely leaning in that direction, and it does have a more open flower structure than the more diesel one. So it' sounds like the better choice... peace, - eyes88 |
