With out a PPM Meter you are flying blind.
Bionova is a fine product form everything I've heard.

If your adjusting the PH twice a day Stop!
After you add the nutes, mix it up a bit and wait a few hours and check it again. Add PH Down if needed ,Don't try to be Exact untill you get a feel for how much Up or Down ( Mostly Down ) is needed to move the PH a certain amount. Wait about 24 hours and check it again, it should be fairly stable.
Do you use Air Stones in your res? Keep your res water mixing as much air as possible 24/7.

Some Strains like High concentrations of nutes, others will Burn and prefer lower Parts Per Million of nutrients. Some Love Nitrogen and others crave Calcium and Magnesium.... So the Bottle is a good starting point but not written in stone and maybe for Tomatoes and not your Herb.
Try lowering it some see if they improve....... not that they are all that bad now. They will survive either way I think... just be more healthy and produce more budage

Keep it Green

PH problems!!! I am watering with H2O with a ph of 6.5 - 6.6... I just checked the water that comes out of the bottom of the pots. The ph has dropped to 4.6 - 4.7... This seems to be a real problem. I have not used any nutes on my water. Should I just give them a good flush and wait to see if they clear up or should I add some ph up to my H2O?

dont use ph up... just a temp fix and will drop right back down.... i take 2tbsp of dolomite lime per gallon of water, mix it up and let sit for 12hours min. carefully water without disturbing sediment or filter. should solve your problem quickly and for good. next grow mix 1tbsp per gallon of soil to prevent proble from occuring. it caused from the peat in the soil breaking down and dropping your ph.

My contribution

This shite has happened to me more than once and i cannot figure out what it could be.

Usually turns up at week 7 of 12/12 (hydro grows, on soil grow wk 5).

Cause: addition of PK in combination with Canna Aqua and phosphoric acid ph down.

Major toxity with lockout of micro elements like Mg, iron and zinc..

Hello all,

I am at my wits end.

This is looking like the third consecutive time I have fried my beans.

First some info.

My Seedling chamber is 16"x20"x27" tall. It has 198 watts of cfl's:
2-45 GE Wally world lights I don't know the color
4-27 watt LoA 5-pack and I don't know hte color but I recall they are different from one another 27800K comes to mind.

I have a 6" fan that blows across the tops towards the exhaust.

The cab is ventilated with a 265 cfm dayton on a speed control-there is positive ventilation.

The desklamp is a ghetto heater (60 watt).

OK, the temps are between 68*F to 78*F.

Humidty is a high rh 70% at the moment due to the weather-not to worried its too soon for humidty issues.

I germed them in the glass of water.

The seeds were planted in a mix of:

1 part Kellogg Patio Plus-a chicken/bat and worm shit-somewhat hot.
4 parts peat
1 part perlite (large)

It was premoistened with pH'ed water, superthrive @ 8 drops/gallon.

They were dry last night and got about 2 ounces of pH'ed water with a pinch of epson salts (my tap water is striped (sequestering agents) of calcium and magnesium).

As a sidenote, the last seedlings I cooked used a mix of:

2 part Kelloggs
1 part peat
1 part perlite
1/2 part washed mason sand ( I had it available)

They sprouted the last 3-4 days.

this is what they look like tonight:

WTF am I doing wrong? Do these look pale to you? The seedleaves seem to be paling quicker.

Any help appricated?
