Early Finishing Strains for Greenhouse?
I'm going to load my greenhouse this summer. I live where it gets to freezing late Aug at night sometimes but still the days can reach 90 or higher. Sept days are still sunny and warm but I've seen well below freezing on a full moone.
I dont have a problem with adding a ventelation system for the day and heat at night. Theres no way around it here. I finished some Dutch Treat a few years ago. They were incredible to look at. Red wine color when they finished. Resin on top of resin on top of... The smoke was very harsh on the throat and keeping it lit was a problem. Are there greenhouse growers on here who are in Canada living in a colder climate that have had consistant success with an particular strain? Someting that finishes mid Sept is what I'm thinking. Keep in mind that if you are doing this in say....the lower mainland of bc, it's going to need a couple of more weeks where I am. Share you greenhouse ideas if you care to. I'm open for improvements. My system is a one sided tier set up with 2 gal plants on the shelves and then the floor covered with 5 gal plants.

Yeah i would look for strains that are stabilized in your type of climate. Look up some breeders from canada. I am a gh grower myself but i live in Southern Cali and we flower all through winter here. I know a way to keep a gh heated at night is by filling up five gallon buckets with hot water and putting the lids on them and place them strategically in the gh. They should keep the plants warm enough and isnt much labor unless you gotta haul that water long distances. You can also leave the lids off in the day if the sun is warm enough and then put the lids back on in the night.

Hello there
Hello there. I like the Legends Seeds Timebomb strain. It is a cross of a dependable outdoor cut called the Texada Timewarp and a DJ Shorts Blueberry male. Nice stinky sticky buds with great yeild and outstanding quality herb. Greenhouse seeds Himalayan Gold is also a good strain as well. I smoked some Mighty Mite buds on Vancouver Island years ago and it was also very good quality. I have heard that some Mighty Mites plants ripen the middle of August! Nirvana's Northern Lights and White Rhino are also two heavy weight Indicas that are good outdoor strains with top shelf bud. Cheers.
