Post I Was There When...

Hello Everyone!

I was hoping this could be some kind of campfire story time thing So let's light up a few joints, sing koombyah, and share some interesting historical stories

Let's hear from those that were really there! Who saw Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock? Who saw the Beatles' last show? Who saw the WTC crumble? Who saw the Berlin Wall come down? Who saw Obama get sworn in? Who saw Regan get sworn in? Who was there when Lincoln was assasinated, i dont know!? Anything!

Kinda like a smoke report or a grow report, maybe it could have a template? I'll start it off with one...

Event: George W. Bush getting sworn into office (the first time)
Year: 2001
People involved: the devil himself, W
Story: I attended the event because in the DC metro area, schools had "Inauguration Day" so that we could go see it. We had just moved to the area so we went. We woke up early as hell and got on the Metro early early in the morning. We get there and its freezing rain and sleet. We eat a hot dog and stand on the Mall for like 4 hours. I watched via Jumbotron next to some hippy protesters haha

So, let's share! I'm dying to hear about some crazy things that you guys have been through/experienced! And pics are most certainly welcome!

Bought a gold bar in 2002 for $320 an ounce....Now its worth $950

Sold my Last Gold bar 2 days ago and I feel vulnerable with no gold

Suppose to go up near 1000.00 an ounce...thats ok..I'm happy with over 50% Gain in tax-free profit.

That's over 8% a year for Seven years,,not bad The Dealer says to me.

I think you may be mistaking Bush for Carter.....Anyway.....1986, cold as hell outside...I'm sitting in my mechanics shop waiting for my car to get inspected watching the Space Shuttle Challenger take off.The moment is frozen in time in my memory.

The new shuttle design was still a novelty so it was a big deal to see it take off.

The teacher stands out in my mind, Christa McAuliffe....sad day.

Event: Jams at JFK - The Who, Santana, The Clash and The Hooters

Year: 1982

People involved: the entire C.S.G. crew (too numerous to mention) not to mention 100,000 or so of our closest friends.

Story: It was the farewell tour for JFK stadium and The WHO (The stadium was later condemned for having nuclear waste buried underneath the ground) and at that time plastics were allowed to be brought into the stadium, so we proceeded to bring in a 1/4 keg of MGD in milk jugs and had a blast.

The exposure to the the Fissile material may explain my odd behavior all these years.

Also, someone tossed an orange the size of a grapefruit (in Philly, imagine that) at the lead singer from The Clash in an effort to shorten their set and get the WHO onstage, he was none too happy.

Event: Live 8 Rally and protest in Edinburgh.

Year: 2005

People involved: An estimated total of 225,000 people took part, making it the largest ever protest in Scotland and the largest ever anti-poverty protest in the UK.

On 2 July, the same day as the Live 8 concerts, a rally and protest march was held in central Edinburgh, the nearest major city to the Gleneagles venue for the G8 conference later that week.
