It will be like the whiskey rebellion. They will wade in and do too much and then once everyone starts going nutty then perhaps reason will descend as a soothing balm upon the hearts of the afflicted and the tax will be calibrated to something closer to reality.

$98 an ounce--I believe that's the idea behind their pricing. A similar bill was introduced last year in the Oregon senate that would have the production being overseen by Oregon State University personnel, at a research facility just outside of Corvallis. I can assure you that the quality, if this passes, would be on par with the most meticulously grown medical-grade cannabis available (I know the folks who run the facility in question--they're hip if you know what I'm sayin').

This particular bill is total shit though, as it's essentially outlawing the production of medical cannabis for personal consumption. Last year's bill still allowed card holders to produce their own--this bill is an end-around to gut the OMMA.
