forgive me if this has been posted before I tried a quick search didnt come up with anything but I have been thinking hard about it and I was wondering what some of your opinions were on trying to create some fem autos by screwing up their light cycle.. or maybe no light at all for a couple of days or something.. anyone have any experiance?? wish i could have posted this on the auto social group but I do not have enough posts..

Hehe, we were just discussing this in the social group. Alot of people use colloidal silver solution and spray it on their plants to force male flowers. Should be able to find some information on it, if not ask away. :p

yeah i just cant post in the group i dont have enough posts i guess... but I was thinking about screwing with the light cycle.. I may have a couple of purple autos that I want to try to make some fem seeds from.. anyone try this?? or is the silver the only option?

Hi. i'm also not able to post in af social group, so i'll post it here:
I feminized some masterlow whith STS method (like described in Big Book of Buds vol. 3, page 148ff) and have grown a lot of the feminized seeds and 100% of them have been female.

My experience was, that you will have to grow two generations with af strains because otherwise the females are to old when the selfed pollen is ready to pollenate:
You should grow some seeds and as soon as you see the first female suddenly start spraying her with sts (twice a day) and don't stop until you get male flowers (in my case it took about 24 days until first male pollen was ready to pollenate). In my first try i only sprayed for 2-3 days and it didn't work.
As soon as you start spraying the female with STS you should start another couple of seeds to get a female as mother. She should be ready until yout get your selfed "father" and then pollenate and see your seeds ripen...

yeah I may not be able to do what I want then.. thanks for the help guys.. Im not going to be able to get another auto fem to pollinate.. I was hoping I could have the plant pollinate itself.. I dont know Im a noob at that stuff.. I only have one cross on my record..

Word, hanfomat. I used the STS method on some masterlow, and selfed the same plants. I got seeds, but the plant was really old, and I was fighting some rot and mildew/mold. Having them spaced out works much better.

I've also only got 100% females that way, too.

BTW, funny thing about the autoflowers group... I read that you guys don't have enough posts to be able to reply there. I was able to reply, but now I can't... I wonder what the real deal is there?

So you treat the plants at almost the end of there life ? and the longer you wait the better chance at getting all females ?

I know under the right condition you can push those AF's. I had a Blue Streak lady almost done and I had a male Deep Chunk that started spewing and let the BS get hit and go another 30 days for the seeds to finish.

No idea what is going on with the Social Groups after such a great start... I hope someone has been reading about these issues and are trying to dial it in.

No, you actually shouldn't wait til the end, it didn't make any more females, it's just when you use the STS method on a definite female, you'll only get female seeds. I had the problems of having to wait until the plant was almost dead.

But if you treated a female with the STS, and had some other female plants around, you could use the female pollen to treat the other plants and get all-female seeds. I guess that's not really "selfing," but the whole thing is making female seeds the same way.

Call me strange, but when the old seed-bearing plant was finally cut and dried, there was a rainbow of flavor, from real fruity flavors to almost a kind of rotten garbage, all potent, though. That was from the top of the plant, not the treated part, which didn't look too pretty after being hit a few times

With the light stress and other methods, you are getting offspring of a plant that went herm. Some use it, though
