2week darkness???

hi all. I am currently on my first grow with whitewidow from www.buydutchseeds.com (probably Nirvana's) and would like input on what yall think bout de 2 weekl dark period. Im currently on day 64 flower and completed a week in the dark, and let me tell you from what i see there tends to be huge difference. She has just exploded with crystals, my problem is im not sure whether that has something to do with the week of darkness or whether thats how the ww ripens.......any help???? Should i let her go the full 70 days considering im looking for a more heady than couchlock high?

48 hours darkness before harvest is the current method

U have already given it a week of no light?

Yeah fred, this is yet another version of the same tired old darkness before harvest theory. Two days, a week, two weeks (take your pick) and then it morphed into the 48 hours darkness before flowering, which morphed into (I kid you not, I have see it) growers wanting to put the plants in the dark for a week before flowering.

Any evidence that there is some benefit to this theory is entirely subjective and does not hold up to scrutiny.

First off thanks Fredster and Caprichoso for you input. Fredster yes she has gone a week in the dark.

Caprichoso......I was researching on the whitewidow strain and read on a couple of websites dat suggested a 2 week dark period. If u think it doesnt make a difference please advise for i am a novice grower.....should i turn the light back on for the last week or continue with the dark period???

U went 57 days & turned out the lifgts for a week?

I personaly would harvest them & next time take them to full finish on 12/12 & then if U believe it helps only 48 hours dark before harvest -

To me; it makes no sence to cut the life off to a plant for a week

I agree with Fredster. Don't forget alot of plants will grow a bit in the last two weeks.

Have you checked the color of the trichomes? Thats how i normaly decide when to chop them down.

Cenzie, I believe your supposed to keep the plants under the lights to full maturity and then move them to the dark room. Really, it's not going to hurt the plants if they're done growing, so the only thing you lose is two weeks till you can dry them

Good luck and congrats on getting them this far. Your almost there!

CenzieamaBhangi,, i also read about this 2 weeks in the dark ,what u should be doing is switching the lighting hours down gradually over the last 2 weeks till u hit 18 off 6 on ,then the last 2-3 days give total dark ,,i read this in an article by the greenhouse about there white widow(weed world issue 24 i think ) ,,,,

if anyone disagrees ,your actually disagreeing with the breeder of white widow and its wat was reccomended for that strain ,,,ive been using the method since i read it and it really does work,,,try it you will see

Yup, I disagree, because I know a marketing technique when I see one. Gotta set your product aside from the rest, right?
