The growdoc method is tried and tested.

It is also common horticultural practise to 'thin-out' seedlings as and when transplanting them.

Lots of growers use soil beds... especially outdoors.

These seed were happily hatched / germinated using the method demonstrated to us by Growdoc, direct onto soil.

This method also works in single pots (photo before watering)

Personally we don't intervene with the seed at all,, and just let nature take its course,,, the roots find soil soon enough, if we always keep the soil moist!!!

Growdoc, I had bought some seeds last year from Europe and out of 5 females I got one germination and the freebies I got 2 males out of 15 seeds. I took some seeds I have been saving for a rainy day from old bags I had bought. I took them and soaked them for 24 hours and then put them on to the wet topsoil and covered with a clear rubbermade container. Just turned the container upside down with the top on a a seedling pad, sprayed the seeds and inside of container to keep in moisture. In 3 days all 8 seeds were up. I finished the process like you once I saw a taproot. I have faith that my order on the way will be more successfull!

quick question: is the dome under light or in dark until seed is pushed into soil with root???? off for 24 hours?

Light - in nature seeds grow in sunlight.

Unless testing for germination ,, then these days we cover the seed with a thin layer of soil... but both methods work well with good seed.

Basically the light period for germination is not as important as maintaining a consistent temperature above 12c.

S. Skunkman's Original Haze x Skunk1!!!

These were left in darkness covered for 60 hours before they germinated, some in 48 hours. Simple old chinese food deliver dish with a lid and I am set.
This is the easiest method I have found in 4 years. I have not touched them and do not think I will. Keep them nice and wet and poof they sprouted. Takes the guess work out of it and you can see what is going on!!!
next time i'll do it with the lights on. That's what she said. lol to much of The Office show
