Flying Dutchmen outdoor choice

Hey fellow weed enthusiasts doing some research for next season on outdoor strains for 42 deg north.

I initially saw Haley’s Comet but found no comments on this forum at least using the search function.

I did find comments on Early Durban. Any outdoor grow experience on these two strains as far as the below factors would be much appreciated.

Harvest Date
Potency
Yield
Leaf to calyx ratio (mold resistance)

PEACE

I grew ED @ 41degN summer 07. 1 plant that my buddy had started ~March. Put in the ground ~June in a ~5gal hole (very good natural soil) with ~2lb of homemade castings. Most of the other strains finished ~mid Oct, and the ED was ready ~late Sept. Plant received ~10gallons of additional water/molasses over the summer. She was ~20oz, and was ready before the surrounding foliage was dead. Even the grasses were still kinda green. Kinda leafy, but nice thick buds with a sweet skunky licoriche smell/flavor. No mold. I would DEFFO run these again.

I ran Aurora B last summer, and it under performed. The plants were very sativa dom, and not done ~mid Oct when I pulled them.

Thanks bro sounds like we are relatively close in environments. ED sounds like a good plant for Sept. finish, which is what I am looking for. Nice to hear that you had no mold even though it was a leafy one. It’s a crapshoot when looking for a good strain that finishes by end of September but this one sounds promising.

What was potency like 0-10 in your opinion?

I had no complaints. I ran sweet haze, Recon, dp's S.cough, and a few Cannaloupes. The ED wasn't knock down, but a joint was plenty for 2 people, and it was a happy, long lasting high. The sweet haze and cough were strong, but they faded quickly. I liked the ED a lot, cause it was properly finished, and the taste was very rich and complex. I gave my boss a lil, and he smoked me up with it last Feb (~5mo bag cure), and it was TASTY!

I have this one high on my list, number one because of your input and number two this strain has been around for a long time and like that fact. Some of these strains come and go but this one has been around the block and that longevity has to mean something.

Thanks again bro feedback like this is so valuable not that I am worried so much about spending the money on the beans but wasting the time and effort to grow something that you have no idea what you are going to get.

good luck outdoors in N Midwest US, w/Haley's Comet. IMO I would go w/HC between the 2. I think Durban itself is low on the THC % but the ED cross might be better.HC is also good indoors good luck give update?

well its not about % thc actually, its about all cannabinoid profile. i like durban (from dutch passion) a lot. very very good smoke - high was INTERESTING at all if you dont smoke it 4x per every day . green or purple buds. but it was ready @ end of october here 55N latitude. yields will not be skunky but qaulity is here .) dont forget to not overhigh it can be really chaos sativa madness

Ive ordered ED for next year

ad PURE_
also I had im my blood some pure skunk outdoor it was very nice vigorous colored plant with good strong high. but it wasnt so interesting for me after few days or week :( this smoke is not for everyday use because of tolerance.... imo is better to breed a little with other genetics to have better cannabinoid profile (for me) + vigorous heavy yielding and smelling herb
